On to the next thread...please don't post anything on here that hasn't been shown on the telly box, or hint at there being something 'out there' on insta or the daily snail cause we'll have to report it and get it removed so as not to ruin any surprises that are around the corner, despite this season being of little surprise so far. Those that want more gossip and info will find it without guidance!
Sheldoninabsentia...but hoping for a return....

And let's not forget Matt's mum is terminally ill and was probably hoping this programme would be something nice for her to watch with her son on it. Until Gemma dripped off her chair.

HandbagsnGladrags · 22/09/2022 19:13

Just catching up on last night. I have thoughts on the April/George situation. If she doesn't want to take on four kids and move her life she needs to let him down now. I speak as a stepmum!

George made a comment about it being an 'excuse' for women to say it won't work. It's really not. It's a life choice to commit to a man with kids.

Doubleraspberry · 22/09/2022 19:17

As a stepmum I totally agree. DH and I were discussing this last night. It’s way more than an excuse, and if he talks like that about it, you can bet he will be totally unsupportive of her in future.

She does though give off giant Baroness vibes. So he shouldn’t even be considering her as a partner.

mrstea301 · 22/09/2022 19:21

Does anyone listen to MAFS Hysteria? It's a weekly podcast about the show and last week they put out an interview they did with PCB, it's quite an interesting listen. He said that they spend at least an hour per couple in the commitment ceremony, so we are really seeing nothing of that tbh. It sounds as though he's pushed for putting out more footage but editing decisions aren't really taking his opinions into account.

I like MAFSA but I fell away from the last one as I was a bit busy, it defo felt like we got to know the couples better though, we're just not seeing much at all! And I HATE all the allusions to things that haven't been shown, it's poor editing. Even the viewers that want more drama - you want to know what the drama is actually about so that you can have an opinion! April should never have been able to slither out of discussing it by saying she wasn't there to talk about that, she should have been made to give her side of the story. And now she's pinned it on Jess who isn't there to defend herself! I do actually believe Thomas, purely because I think if he had something to say then he'd have said it straight to Chanita's face - he has already demonstrated this a number of times.

You can use envy instead 😄 Envy

When the male expert said W&D were a mess, I had a tiny hope they were going to start sending people home ... sadly, no.

It would be entertaining and more genuine if the experts could vote them out! eg
to W&D 'you obviously don't get on - leave!'
to Jenna 'you want a vegan but she isn't one - leave!'
to Matt 'you despise her - leave!'
to K&K 'one grubby massage in the presence of an expert isn't a relationship - leave!'
to George 'she hates kids and will send them to a witch in a forest - leave!'
Hmm maybe we should suggest that format change for the next series.

I don't even get Mr Envy as an option any more! Used to always use it and do the <not envy bit after 😂

So you could have that, but wouldn't you rather they all put a key in a bowl and then pick one...just think of the possibilities!

@Doubleraspberry if she stays with him I foresee a future where she is posting on the step-parenting board that her husband fucks off out to the gym every night and leaves her looking after his kids! But nah, not gonna happen. They won't stay together.

I didn't know that about Matt being on Naked Attraction. What a hypocrite.

Sunbird24 · 22/09/2022 19:22

@Maves Matt didn’t get naked on Naked Attraction, he was in a VT as the friend of somebody who did

Ffsjustltb · 22/09/2022 19:22

Matt was on naked attraction as a video link about a contestant that he knew. He wasn't a contestant and never got naked.
I agree with @Midlifemusings. There seems to be a lot of wild speculation and opinion given as facts on these threads.
Please come back @sheldon and sort it out 😁

Ah, ok.

@mrstea301 the commitment ceremonies must be about 3 days long if that's the case!

dapsnotplimsolls · 22/09/2022 19:24

Thank you for the thread!

I agree with everyone who's said we're not seeing enough of the couples going about their daily business.

Last nights episode was boring tbh. There has been a lot of backlash about the ixperts seemingly siding with Gemma it appears. I think there is more to that story than just her vulgarity to be honest - as cringe as it is - and it was from the start, Matt just gives me horrendous vibes and I can't really place it. I totally understand his boundaries but he does so in such a dismissive way, that it never appears to be routed in anything other than showing contempt. I've been in that situation where someone tells you how they feel about something but does so in such a way that it feels so very personal and yet at the same time so contemptuous. That said I never talk about my fanny throbbing 😂

Was there ever a MaFS Aus thread on here? I'm watching it on All 4 (episode 1 so far).

Oh plenty, in fact way more than for the UK ones - you'll have a ton of reading! I miss MAFASAURUS....yeah I know too many letters but it's affectionate ❤

Gemma keeps saying Matt doesn't get her sense of humour but I've yet to hear her say anything funny. Why does she think her crudeness is funny? Does anyone on here think she's funny?

I second that! 👏👏

Doubleraspberry · 22/09/2022 19:30

@HandbagsnGladrags I reckon he’d alienate his kids by slobbering all over April at first, but then take their side when they showed their resentment because of it, and tell her she needed to be more understanding of them when they were vile to her. And none of the dynamics would be his fault as he adores them all.

If her friend at the wedding was anything to go by I expect her friends encourage her behaviour and she doesn't realise she's not funny at all.

Reminds me of Bonnie who was first out in Big Brother years ago. All her mates thought her hilarious but she was out of her depth surrounded by the other big characters.

Bytrgrewd · 22/09/2022 19:33

Yay it worked

marmiteadict · 22/09/2022 18:46

@A580Hojas

It was her adopted mother. She was on MAFS Unveiled and seemed to be very grounded.

She was almost as vulgar as Gemma at the wedding reception

HandbagsnGladrags · 22/09/2022 19:46

Defo @Doubleraspberry. And I reckon he's a Disney dad. I know it's been said before but April's spontaneous crying is so fake. And can I also just say that Kwamememe's way of speaking is getting RIGHT on my tits.

HappyPeach · 22/09/2022 19:47

I’ve been shouting Disney Dad at the TV since the start.

PoseyFlump · 22/09/2022 19:29

I second that! 👏👏

I third it.

And even if he had got naked, why would that suddenly mean he has double standards anyway?! Getting naked out of choice is very different from having unwanted smutty vile comments thrown at you constantly.
And similarly, if a guy said to me that some food was like an orgasm to the face, that is absolutely NOT the same as me continually being vulgar and giving a sausage a blow job in a restaurant.

Again, equality seems to be missing with a lot of posters on here. Again, if it was a woman who'd been on Naked Attraction (or OnlyFans a la MAFS Aus), we'd be outraged if anyone implied that meant she therefore had a cheek to complain about some overbearing man pushing her into having sex and saying things like he's got a hard-on just looking at her and saying she's so fucking fit.

Thegroaninggurner · 22/09/2022 20:19

Just placemarking for later.

dillite · 22/09/2022 20:35

P.s. we don't actually know that it was a sausage for sure. I only used it as an example. It could have been a banana. Or a cannelloni. Or some spoon.

Talking of Kwame, did anyone notice him bark 'who's at the door? Get the door' while lounging around giving his orders. That bugged me.
