Starting on BBC1 on 23 September.

New series which was inspired by a Mumsnet thread.

The official synopsis for Am I Being Unreasonable? calls it a "twisted comedy thriller about obsessive friendship, maternal paranoia – and a dead cat."
The synopsis continues: "Nic is grieving a loss that she can’t share with anyone and is unfulfilled in her marriage. Only her son Ollie, who she adores, keeps her going. But when Jen arrives in town her life is lit up with laughter and through this kindred soul her dark secret starts to bubble up.
"Shot through with whip smart humour, this mischievous and characterful blend of funny and frantic takes female storytelling to a refreshing and dynamic new level."

I'll look forward to that

WelshNerd · 15/09/2022 19:03

Is this a specific thread? Does Daisy May Cooper owe us all a pound?

Choconut · 15/09/2022 19:05

Oooh thanks for letting us know.

pennymorris · 20/09/2022 23:09

I knew it had to be linked to Mumsnet!

SheldonesqueIsUnderwhelmed · 21/09/2022 14:50

I bloody love her. It will be a race to get home but I’m series linked and all will not be lost.

Bloody missing the strictly start as well.

But this, along with Ghosts, will certainly take the sting off. I will be playing catchy uppy because thanks to work and every other bastard thing else, I can’t feckin keepy uppy.

See ye aboot.

There was an article about this in The Times a week or so ago. I can't do share tokens, but here's a link to the article

I'd like to watch this but I'm unsure as it features grief over a dead cat. I struggled massively over the death of my cat and don't want to watch anything that might make light of this. I'd be interested if anyone who's watched it all could tell me if it's handled sympathetically or not.

Mooserp · 24/09/2022 16:31

I liked the first episode. Intriguing...

I enjoyed it too, binged watched it last night and this morning.

There is another active thread on this if you want to join that one.

OhAmBackAgain · 24/09/2022 18:27

just watched the first episode. Intriguing is the word. Decided since dh is watching rugby I might aswell binge watch it and then find the other thread.

mistopheles · 24/09/2022 18:52

Am half way through first episode. Slightly 'relaxed' in charge of two (not so young don't worry) children and giggling merrily away at this. Does Daisy May really think we are all 40s/50s middle class rural Mums with cleaners? I mean that's me to a tee but I'm sure it's not many of us it? Is it?

wellhelloitsme · 24/09/2022 19:41

Binged it today and absolutely loved it. I won't share any spoilers obviously but some really great twists and turns.

IrmaGord · 24/09/2022 19:46

I loved it too. But for the person upthread, if you're still grieving the loss of your cat, I'd probably avoid it.

The show isn't a statement by DMC about who she's thinks frequents the MN forum. In fact, there's only a couple of references to the AIBU thing, that could have been left out entirely without any detriment to the plot.

Oh bless you, me too. I thought it sounded daft in a way in my head, but my cat was beautiful and loved, and it stays raw, and I don't want to watch what would basically be a 'dead cat meme' sketch iykwim. I'd be happy to hear if it's otherwise and sensitive.

wellhelloitsme · 24/09/2022 20:41

@CosmopolitanPlease

Sorry about your cat, grief is so hard with pets as some people don't get how devastating it can be 😞

I would give it a miss if you're still feeling raw as there are some bits I think could be quite triggering grief wise re cats.

Surely you’re not seriously suggesting you, a middle class mum with a cleaner, are in the minority of viewers?

I’m not sure whether you are taking the piss.

Having a cleaner isn’t that unusual.

IrmaGord · 28/09/2022 09:15

@PollyAmour not only that but Daisy is only 36, so it's a bit insulting as well 😆

chaiz · 05/10/2022 18:53

Love this show!

chaiz · 05/10/2022 18:54

The twists surprised me which I liked

iklboo · 05/10/2022 18:57

We're enjoying it. Love the lad who plays Ollie.

MagnaQuestion · 05/10/2022 18:57

I've just finished it - it's fab!

I'm curious about the large house though. She doesn't seem to eb working and it's properly lovely!

CrapBucket · 05/10/2022 18:58

Watched the first episode kinda meh as was expecting a comedy - realising its not... have just watched it all, fucking hell!!!

Definitely avoid if you are grieving a cat.

Apart from that I recommend it to anyone.
