I think I'm all marched out after today

I have been a it glued to the tv today. I have done some irongi (hope HMQ wouldn't have minded). It's all been quite nice.

I am getting a marching beat stuck in my head though.

I watched the funeral on my phone lying on my sunbed - I’m sure it’s what the Queen would have wanted! I liked the flowers on top of the coffin

I still haven’t seen Rafa (although he has been posting topless pictures on his Instagram from his balcony to tempt me )

He usually rushes off to Ibiza when I come to Mallorca

I'm pretty sure the Queen would appreciate my ironing efforts. The flowers were lovely- and I have found it all very well done. But seeing her corgis nearly made me cry

Phew! Jane I'm not sure I could cope!

Fed has apparently said he won't play singles at the Laver Cup, but will play doubles with Rafa. There is something quite fitting about that I think.

Phew that’s a relief about Rafa - apparently he’s been given some sort of award in Mallorca - I wasn’t quite sure what it was even after reading the translation!

Roger playing doubles with Rafa would be very fitting - I’m not really sure if Roger is really up for much else - he hasn’t played on the tour for about 3 years I think - it will be nice for him to say goodbye in London

i think there was an interview with him on BBC Breakfast so I might have a listen to that later

I saw a bit of the interview, Fizzy - I need to watch it properly later.

I saw an artcle that claimed tickets were selling for as much as £45,000.

I would want Rafa to be sitting next to me, nevermind playing, for that price. And feeding me gold plated dates.

Roger said his knee is only capable of doubles at this point, and it sounded like he meant only one match. It would be lovely if he and Rafa could play together. The tribute Rafa posted after he announced his retirement was so lovely. Has Djok said anything? I don’t follow his socials…

Jane - I’m not sure which dodgy sites you’re following!

Djok did do a nice statement about Roger ice but I think Rafa’s was nicer - do you think team world will let Roger win his final match? (Probably not if Mac has anything to do with it!)

Everything Djok posts is to try to make himself look good in my opinion (other opinions may vary)

My opinion is the same Jane - Djok’s words never really ring true to me

I don't trust Djok- and it will really annoy him this weekend, because all eyes will be on Roger (and Rafa) and it will reinforce to him the fact he will never get the adulation either of them do. However many stupid arm celebrations he does.

That’s how I feel about him too Jane. Everything seems very calculated. But occasionally I wonder if I’m being uncharitable.

Ice I briefly made the mistake of feeling sorry for Djok. After he won RG 2016,and things seem to go downhill, and 2017 was his worst year on tour since his early days.
He lost early in Australia, 2 years running, lost to Chickenato at RG 2018- and I thought his career was going south.wishful thinking I felt a bit sorry for him.

After that he barely lost a thing. I learnt my lesson

I thought it was a bit mean earlier - all the Laver Cup squad having photos around London. But Rafa wasn't on them-he was arriving late because of his awards thingy in Mallorca.

Stan has beaten Daniil in Metz, I see. That's a good result- but I think Daniil has been gonig through a bit of a slump. By all accounts, it was a typical Daniil match- broken racquets, booing crowds...
