I’ve not seen Ben Stiller since he wore that very sweaty grey t-shirt - he’s probably still embarrassed!

I was wondering if either player was around when 9/11 happened - Casper is also the same age as my DS1 so would have been about two! Carlos wouldn’t have been born (he’s younger than my DS2!)

As I can’t watch I’m relying on you for important updates - was it really Rick Astley?

I am not really feeling this match at the moment. I am trying to get excited. I really like Casper and Carlos, but Jim and TIm are boring me.

It's my friend's birthday today- and I remember being at work on 9/11, (she was a smoker, and the smoking room was room with the tv- I was with her when she nipped in for a quick break and saw the new in the morning) . My office was at the back of the audio and tv/service department at John Lewis- so there were lots of tvs on the shop floor- all showing footage, all day.

It was a very strange day.

Everyone who does commentary with Jim sounds so weary. Martina and Tim would have been better.

It's lucky I don't really mind who wins. (I would have liked Rafa to have made it to number 1 at least, but that can't happen now).

The very best thing is Djok is nowhere to be seen.

It's DS's 19th birthday today!
He was almost 2 weeks late and when they told me to go to hospital to be induced on 10th September, I knew he'd be born on the 11th!
I wanted to do that thing of keeping the newspaper from the day he was born but, only being 2 years after 9/11, it had bin Laden on the front page and more 9/11 reporting inside, so I didn't bother!

We watched it all unfold at work. My co-head was seconded from the New York office, so that made it even worse.

Haven't watched any tennis for a few days and now too tired, so off to bed.

I agree the atmosphere is a bit less in this match than in some of the others, which is a bit of a shame.

But yes, the crowd are getting behind Casper a bit more now than they were- maybe the crowd have realised they have paid a lot for the tickets and want their moneys worth after all!

Sorry, haven't been on thread to date, work too crazy, but have been watching whenever had a chance. Think this match is amazing so far from both, though unlikely to see it too its end

Hi @theskyisbluernow it's definitely getting more interesting now!

This is definitely hotting up now - I am glad Casper has a set- because I think Tim and Jim had this match down as a Carlos 3 set match, at the start. And certainly, the crowds were all for Carlos to begin with. It's getting a little more even now.

And Casper can say he's won a set in a slam final
