I sent our one off to a jumble sale last year so that someone else can suffer.

I've been score watching the alcaraz/Sinner match- definitely very tight. Sinner has just gone 2 sets to 1 up- after 3 and a half hours.

Sinner dominated the tie break in the 3rd set- I wonder if Carlos is running out of steam?

Sinner up a break already in the 4th. The momentum is definitely with Jannik.

Tense now- Carlos finally broken to level the 4th set at 5 all.

I can tell who the crowd are behind, but I'm not ruling out Sinner, even if this goes to a 5th.

And we're going to a 5th.

Robbie and Petch are defintely team Carlos in this match- which is a bit unfair- as Sinner is playing so well.

It's gone 2am- and this set could take a while. It depends if the disappointment of losing that 4t affects Jannk- Carlos could run away with it.

It's a shame this wasn't on earlier. But there are still a lot of spectators there.

Argh, I have to leave for work in 30 minutes and I'm not even dressed!
I have a bit of a soft spot for Carlos so I hope he can do it.

So, it's now the latest finish they've had. And Sinner has the break.

I like Carlos- but I like Jannik too- and he's been under the radar a bit wih the hype surrounding other players. He's playing a smart game.

The crowd haven't run out of steam- even though it's late (early?).

Be interesting to see if the late finish has an effect on the semi final.

Carlos ended up with a number of 'late' matches at RG too- scheduled as the 'headline' match. He wasn't all that happy at the time. It's a bit of a double edged sword- especially when it gets this late.

And he's done it- over 5 hours. Well done to both of them ,really.

I do feel sorry for Jannik, but at least he's getting a good reception as he leaves. He more than played his part in that match.

So- semi finals are Ruud/Khachanov , and Tiafoe/Alcaraz.

I suppose the final should be Carlos/Casper- the Frances and Karen were unexpected - and have very little to lose in their matches though- Frances will also have a huge amount of support. The crowds will probably be a bit different for Carlos in his next match, who has been 'the favourite' in his matches so far.

Crikey! I only looked at the overnight results 10 minutes ago, not realising this match must have literally just finished!! Five hours! This is one of the reasons I think night sessions are ridiculous, especially if there is a, say, 3 hours gap between the day session ending and the start of the night session, with bugger all tennis in between
Sounds like a great match, with Carlos coming from behind more than once!

kazza I watched the last couple of hours, and it was really good. I agree the night matches are daft for this- there have been many times there have been big gaps between session, iand it seems such a waste. No doubt it's down to money and tv audiences- but I will be surprised if Carlos doesn't comment about it- it's his second late finsh. He's young enough to recover- but it's not great.
