The new season starts on 14th September in the US. No UK date yet but likely be be later in the year

Trailer:

It looks set to be as dramatic as ever. I'm looking forward to the new series but I hope this will be the last, or it risks being one of those series that goes on too long.

I don't understand. I've just recorded and watched the first episode of the new series, but it sounds like some of you are bingeing! I didn't think this was possible?

bloodyeverlastinghell · 24/10/2022 02:54

@mycatisannoying we are watching online link is on the first page. May the lord open 😉

FrankTheThunderbird · 24/10/2022 10:46

Cazziebo · 24/10/2022 11:19

Thanks, @PastyMuncher Great listen!

OnTheBoardwalk · 24/10/2022 20:33

Has anyone watched the new episode?

Why do I feel like something is going to go very, very wrong...

I've just finished it... I don't trust any moment of glee in HMT!

I have recorded the first episode (UK pace) but I can’t decide whether to watch this series or not. On the one hand, I want to know what happens, but on the other, I’m not sure I’m up to all the bleakness, and worrying about whether it will all come out OK in the end.

Am I being stupidly wet about this? Are there some moments of hope to cling to?

I felt exactly the same. I found the previous series such a difficult watch. Forced myself to watch them.
We are about 3 episodes ahead of Channel 4 ( am watching it on RTE tv ( Irish state broadcaster ).
You've come this far - I'd advise you to keep watching.

Since this is the spoiler thread - yes, IMO it gets better and more hopeful. Not immediately but after a few episodes.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 26/10/2022 18:49

Thank you @LadyEloise1 and @AnotherEmma - I might wait until I’ve got a couple more recorded, then watch them together.

OnTheBoardwalk · 26/10/2022 20:51

Please don’t be on this thread if you’ve not watched the episodes USA time on one of the many websites.

I’ve shook my fist at Serena many times in the past but did feel sorry for her tonight. Well until I remember Offred on the wardrobe floor and Serena's treatment of her

i still don’t understand the flashback of Serena and Offred smiling at each other attending the birth of the handmaiden who died. The previous Offred had taken her own life before this is not sure what they were smirking at each other for

It's going to have to go wrong isn't it? Or the Testaments won't make sense.

The first few episodes of this series were quite boring I think, especially after all the action of the previous series. (Shoud that be serises?) But its really improved the last few episodes. It's getting exciting without the horrificness of the earlier series. Although I miss the tear inducing nail biting excitement.

AnotherEmma · 26/10/2022 22:10

Things are really getting interesting, aren't they?
Commander Lawrence was always so ambiguous and they finally showed his "side" in this episode.
But still no idea what on Earth Nick is thinking at any given moment!
It's torture having to wait a whole week for each episode.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 26/10/2022 22:14

I find Serena's situation really interesting and where that goes? Presumably in one direction. There was a lot of hope though in this episode.

PastyMuncher · 31/10/2022 21:30

Commander Lawrence was on fire in this episode. My favourite line ever: 'Do you have an irony deficiency, Serena?'

AnotherEmma · 01/11/2022 09:26

Ha, yes!

No, me neither.

I mean they know where thier daughter is - hurrah!! Now the future of rescuing her and living the happy family life is realistic.

But does she want to be rescued or want or know them as parents?

(Also, when we saw that clip of all the young girls walking across the corridor - why did only she stop? Seems weird that footage, taken specifically of her, has her and only her noticing it being taken.)

AnImaginaryCat · 01/11/2022 09:46

I've not read the Testaments. So don't know why it won't make sense.

I do have it just not got around to actually reading it!!

Whataboutno · 02/11/2022 22:36

Anyone seen this week's episode? I'm not sure what to make of it all really!

I watched it this morning. I always find I have to "digest" it. I'm impressed that Hannah remembers how to write!

Rantypanties · 02/11/2022 22:45

It left me confused too, I don’t see the ‘spark’ between Nick and June so can’t see the pull of living near him being worth going to New Bethlehem for.

I didn’t get the genetics question when Nick’s wife was being congratulated on getting pregnant, are they related somehow?!?

Whataboutno · 02/11/2022 22:53

I thought they were alluding to her maternal age (Nick's wife) but have just read that it could be related to her walking with a cane and passing on that condition.

I totally didn't get that Lawrence orchestrated the Hannah situation by sending them the Intel and then shooting down the planes of the US military.

Basically I have to read up after episode as I have no idea what's going on 😅

AnotherEmma · 02/11/2022 22:54

Hmmm. Strange episode.

I don't understand Nick's decisions at all, I didn't see any chemistry between them this time, either, and I don't see how June can still love him when he's chosen to rise to the top in Gilead Angry

Thank God Serena-Joy escaped.

How many episodes are left? Is it just one?

It seems to be gearing towards all out war.

OnTheBoardwalk · 02/11/2022 23:00

Wasn’t sure why June was looking upset when Nick told her his wife was pregnant surely that ship has well sailed

i was intrigued Lawrence chose to offer Mrs Putnam his hand in marriage but not Serena when she thought they would be wed

im still team Nick fighting for the greater good
