tense 5 part thriller

from the ones who made line of duty and vigil …..

joe (aiden turner) a clinical psychologist is called in to offer his expertise after a body of a young woman is found in a london cemetery

when Di Vincent Ruiz (Shaun Parker) and his new partner Ds Riya Devi show him the body their suspicions are aroused by his reaction

is he shocked by the brutality of the murder or is there something he didn’t telling the police

joe has been recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and starts acting strangely

I do love a good thriller /drama so Hope will be good

Just finished it this eve. Yes there were weird parts to it all, plumber conveniently getting a job at that house etc but the ending made me so sad. I'm a csa survivor from the 70s. So so many children's lives have been destroyed because of the cruel act of the adults supposing to be their safety. The plumber had such guilt from not helping his little brother though at the time he was suffering too. Its a shame that storyline was just touched upon in the last episode. I know its just a drama but I felt so sorry for Bobby in the end. He's a product of wicked people. So sad x

We thought it was excellent and ,despite the inaccuracies and obvious fabrications, that final episode achieved a buildup of tension to rival anything we have ever seen on tv.

Are you being sarcastic?

purpleme12 · 01/10/2022 22:48

I thought it was good.
I thought the ending was disturbing when he went down and was ready to die from his own doing.

Ikeameatballs · 02/10/2022 17:46

Who was the actor who was only in the final episode as a bit part, he was a police firearms officer or something. Dark hair, Yorkshire accent, used to be a lead actor in loads of stuff??

Ian somebody.

Think he was in a detective thing with a female partner.

Not sure of the name.

Blue Something?

Something Blue?

Ian Kelsey.

I'm thinking of Blue Murder with Caroline Quentin.

He was in Emmerdale!

Just binge watched this so catching up.
@Blondeshavemorefun can you tag me as well please for the next potential goodie!

That was...a rollercoaster. Started up, went down, went around.

Ultimately, apart from the coincidences, the two cops must win both the prize for ineptitude and really bad acting. I've not seen either in anything before- but the woman especially seemed like she was reading her lines for the first time. And after all Joe's sensible and believable explanations as to why he was being set up, nobody believes him till the spade gets tested.

I was obviously convinced slimy yet handsome doctor was the perp as he's murdered so many people before. I'm old enough to remember him getting his come-uppance in Casualty which must be 20 odd years ago!

Enjoyable, but daft. Will probably watch another series. Might read the books. Would like Aidan without beard and brown psychology clothes.

@Blondeshavemorefun
Just finished it.
I thought it was very good.
What was the point of the slimy doctor friend ?
Why was the first woman killed - what was her connection to the two abused boys - just to get at Joe ?
And the prostitute Joe slept with ?
How would the plumber know she was Joe's alibi ?

The daughter will need a lot of counselling having been in that hostage situation.
