I thought Davide was crying because the setting and the opera music reminded him of home? Which is quite understandable, I think, when you live in another country. I don’t think he claimed it was about the date or Ekin.

The thing about Gemma is I just find her super miserable she always looks unhappy 🤷‍♀️ I liked her at first but now I don’t. I think it’s just unseen bits today For pp that asked

I’ve decided to watch yesterday’s episode after everyone was saying how Luca and Gemma were so awkward! I’ve noticed that the date was set in what looked like a mosque? I understand they’re in Spain and there’s a lot of mosques of Andalusia that have been converted to cathedrals after the crusades but I think it’s quite disrespectful to set a date there snogging, drinking and throwing petals in the water fountain where people used to do their ablution to get ready to pray.
But yeah, Gemma looked like she’s ready to go home.

The whole thing is massively disrespectful and narcissistic at it's very core, so not surprised.

Adam and Paige's date on the yacht was anchored off the coastline to reveal a wonderful piece of architecture that is the Catedral de Mallorca. Did they mention it or even notice it in the VT? Nope. No cultural references are ever made.

I guess we've always known this isn't high brow TV

@RainbowZebraWarrior I don't disagree with your point in general, but Adam mentioned how amazing (or 'mint') the cathedral was more than once when they got back to the villa.

There's plenty of architecture like that of Gemma & Luca's date in Majorca, both historic from Arabic settlers, and newer replications for private homes and venues. I wouldn't necessarily assume it was originally a mosque, although suppose it can't be ruled out either.

They used the same place for Faye & Teddy last time too.

They were bigging up the series like it was the best since series 3.
Nah its been mainly uneventful. Halfway improved then steadily went boring/ downhill again.
People I'd remember would be Paige, Gemma, Luca, Ekin, Davide. Air time with some drama.

Ekin made most people continue watching the whole thing.

The girls secret missions were brilliant, Luca's face sat outside the toilet made me LOL he looked so confused.

I'm also hoping Ekin Su and Davide make it to the final, their sun lotion 'fight' was so natural, really playful, what you'd expect from two people really comfortable with each other. I think they are genuine.

I'd say that ES/Davide are winning on Twitter, but who knows if that's likely to be right, and also still be the case by the final vote.

If Gemma's family are lukewarm about Luca, that'll kill their chances

The ones I want to see are ES's (she's positioned herself as the grown up of the villa, so I want to see how she is when the real grown ups come in)

Regarding Gemma being so uncomfortable and going through the motions at times..
A- Regrets going in but is constantly convinced otherwise by the producers eg money money the longer the stay.
B- Is Aseuxal or has a boyfriend on outside.
C- is a closet lesbian.

I do get the idea that he's not Mr Right, but rather he's the one she thinks she can win with. I doubt very much she regrets going in

Gemma seems particularly wooden and po-faced when she knows that the cameras are definitely on her. eg the dates and set up chats etc. (Shes definitely not a 'performer') She's much more animated and acts like a normal 19 year old when she's in the background fooling around or with the girls. It will be interesting to see if she's more natural around her family - if/when they come into the villa.

I don't want her and Luca to win (or even be in the top 3). They have brought very little to the show imo. And Luca's edit certainly hasn't done him any favours.

If she didn't have the cachet of being MO's daughter, she wouldn't have lasted through the first couple of islander culls!
