Of course the couples are voting tactically - they want rid of the ones they think they can't win against

So this vote is almost like a reverse popularity poll, but it doesn't really matter at this stage. Because whoever the public vote off wouldn't be the winners anyhow

Normally they put the two couples with the most votes to the public vote.

This would have put Ekin and Davide against Luca and Gemma.

If you look at public popularity/ bookies odds they were both very strongly in the top two.

I can't blame producers for stepping in because it was tactical voting at it's finest by the finalists who knew exactly how this normally plays.

I honestly don't think any of them will last five minutes in the real world so I'd like a vote for most entertaining. Tasha and Andrew v Davide and Ekin would be justice in that case.

We all want to see Luca meets Gemma's mum so they can come in third.

Well I've missed the last couple of episodes due to no Internet and have just caught up. I've slipped through most of it. Gos the dates are boring. I know they all set up so they can do a grand romantic gesture confirming what an amazing couple they are before the final but snooze ... cant we send them sky diving or something!

I can't remember how they did the votes last year but I don't think we voted out of loads of couples did we?

Anyway best bit for m was them playing "this is how legends are made" over Adam just before the ad break.

Actually I've just googled and found an article from Aug 21 which says the bottom 4 least compatible were put to the public vote so clearly I'm wrong

Tasha and Andrew seem like the only couple that might stay together for a while at least once out.

Just watching on catch up. Bloody hell Gemma and Luca's date. SO awful, neither of them seemed like they had much to say to each other and looked awkward and bored. I don't think they are that into each other at all, especially her. Even the romantic music being played in the background couldn't save it. It was so unromantic!

It was interesting when they submitted the votes that each couple seems to have a final check that they both agreed apart from Gemma and Luca!

Yeah Gemma and Lucas date was literally the most awkward date ever, she looked uncomfortable and he had crazy stalker eyes! Agree about Dami, he seems either checked out of villa life or boyfriend life.

DH has hardly watched any LI but he did watch last night and even after just one episode said he thinks Davide & ES seem the most natural and comfortable with each other.

I don't think Gemma is a mean-girl and sadly I think she might be more into him than we think.

I think her admirably strong boundaries take a lot of effort and are very conscious - the result of previous early damage and manipulation and work to correct it. I think she's very brittle and tense, and probably hard work to be around, but it's because she's hypervigilant.

I've also got a really awful feeling that she likes Luca for real, and does so because his pattern (freeze her out/reel her in) is familiar to her, even though she keeps trying to apply her hard-won boundaries. It makes me feel very sad actually. Reading some of the links above about her father has been eye-opening.

In complete contradiction, I also think that Luca could eventually grow out of his masculinist bullshit and become a decent human being. He has an authentic directness that's quite rare and a core of self-belief too. It's really odd that he's so possessive when in other respects he seems quite solid and 'take me as I am'.

Also, Davide tearing up is like Narcissus being moved to tears by his own beauty 😂He just finds the sound of the words in his mouth so deeply, deeply affecting.
