Look, judge me for going early but I'm down the pub again tomorrow and I need to make sure your commentaries and observations are all being jotted down in an orderly fashion 😂

Be darlings though, and fill up the other one first....

I watched after sun last night for the first time. Jacques is broken. I don’t think he wanted to be there or, should have been there for his own mental health. He kept looking at his mum. He said he needs to work though a lot. It was uncomfortable viewing.

vjg13 · 18/07/2022 07:20

Adam has really missed an opportunity. Can't believe neither him nor any of the others called out Luca on his revolting behaviour.

Lampzade · 18/07/2022 07:23

PomBearWithoutHerOFRS · 18/07/2022 04:58

Luca has finally nailed his true colours to the mast, and his behaviour tonight was appalling, but it's only tonight that I really stopped to look at his behaviour towards Tasha. He hates her! his behaviour towards her, and his manipulation of Andrew, and their relationship is shocking.
A normal friend, even if he didn't like his friend's chosen partner, would be civil, keep his opinions neutral, and be happy his friend was happy. Not take every opportunity to hammer wedge between them. For all Andrew and Tasha's drama, they do seem to be growing (a bit) as a couple, and communicating more, and Andrew was right when he said about "he can't complain about T and Billy because he did more/worse". Luca just can't seem to accept Andrew is happy, and T is the one he wants, and he is getting more and more nasty about it, all in a creepy veneer of "well everybody thinks it too"
Luca is a nasty piece of work, and I hope Gemma (and everyone else in there) sees it.

Luca truly hates Tasha.
It is all rooted in misogyny. He hates that a woman is able to explore other options which Tasha did
Luca is a nasty piece of work who cheated on his long term girlfriend with her friend, yet has an issue with Gemma supposedly flirting with Billy. One thing cheaters hate is getting cheated on.
The strange thing about Luca is that he enjoyed egging the other men on but when he saw the clip of Gemma and Billy he was furious.
The behaviour of every single one of those men was terrible
Dami wasn’t much better. The way he spoke to Summer was disgusting. I was really disappointed in Indiyah , she didn’t even reprimand him. She didn’t even make this man graft one little bit. All that heartbreaker nonsense is a front.
To me Davide is vile. This man is a misogynistic prick who has little regard for women. To think that I actually found him funny at the beginning.
The way he has treated Ekin Su is a disgrace
I am not voting for any of the couples tbh
The only two Islanders that I have any time for are Danica and Ekin Su

icelollycraving · 18/07/2022 07:24

God I’d love it if they binned off all the men. They all behaved terribly. Back slapping, laughing like a bunch of bloody donkeys. The girls all questioning themselves, ES thinking it was about her weight. I was surprised at Indiyah snuggling in to him after hearing his bullshit.
There was a scene in SATC where after heartbreak and bad dates, they said let’s be each other’s special people. I wish two girls could win.
I don’t hold out much hope for Luca getting the heave ho from Gemma’s mum.

oodledoodle · 18/07/2022 07:24

Shame we can’t vote for individuals in the final. There isn’t one couple I would vote for. If I had to it would be ES and Davide, just for ES. I am concerned that the producers haven’t pulled Luca for his behaviour. We can all see it. What are they watching and allowing, particularly when he comes out.

Oh yes, the weight thing was really quite disturbing.

jay55 · 18/07/2022 07:30

I think we just have to hope that whoever wins, the woman gets the money and doesn't share.

marmiteadict · 18/07/2022 07:41

Adam is the only one who would have the bottle to go against the pack mentality and call out some of the boys behaviour.

Unfortunately he seems to be letting them dig their own graves, enjoying his own redemption curve and coasting towards the cash prize.

@oodledoodle

what was the weight thing? I missed that

Tillsforthrills · 18/07/2022 08:00

In answer to PP - I saw a few minutes of aftersun and Jacques was asked about Paige and Adam. He was surprisingly mature about it and said although he likes her she must do what she wants to do.

Tillsforthrills · 18/07/2022 08:03

This years LI is just bad vibes all round. Thanks to these awful awful males.

Indiyah and Tasha are absolute doormats which must be hard for their families to see.

It was good to see Summer standing up to Dami and really hope Gemma dumps Luca and ES tells Davide to go to hell.

Davide said he wanted to get rid of this ‘heavyweight’ about ES as a figure of speech. She took it in a literal way, thinking he was calling her heavy and looked shocked and upset.

marmiteadict · 18/07/2022 08:06

@LuckySantangelo35 Davide was shown saying he needed to get rid of a heavy weight in Casa Amor.

Ekin Su took it literally to mean he was calling her fat.

mossberry · 18/07/2022 08:14

Jacques left the villa (apparently) of his own accord, so I don't think he's contractually obliged to go on Aftersun (I remember this came up about Jake last year). So it must have been his choice to do so and I think it was probably the right decision in terms of damage control as social media is alight with sympathy for him.

Luca's behaviour is horrendous. Davide is a prick. Can only hope that meet the parents/family this year brings some of this to light as no one responsible for supporting the girls in there is doing their job.

Hhd1 · 18/07/2022 08:23

Why are the girls so forgiving. I have a no bullshit tolerance when it comes to relationships but these lot just seem to forgive the men whatever they do or say.

Picoloangel · 18/07/2022 08:27

I agree with every single thing everyone has said about Luca and Dami but Davide I don’t get the hate. ES tells lies and that’s not acceptable. If the shoe was on the other foot we would all be outraged. He said v clearly that he doesn’t care what happened because he had also done stuff but that what he doesn’t like is the lying. Something happened that she wanted to cover up. I don’t blame Davide being sceptical because she’s lied to him more than once and been caught out.

I don’t mind ES and it was heartbreaking to hear her question her weight but she does tell lies. I can’t abide dishonesty and so I get why that is really bugging Davide.

Dami and Luca should just do one. Indiyah for all her bravado is just another girl
willing to forgive this toxic behaviour from a man. So disappointing.

I am so depressed to see this awful misogyny in 2022. I have an 11 year old daughter and it is beyond depressing and disappointing to be seeing this worrying behaviour. Nothing has changed.

moiraswigs · 18/07/2022 08:34

Oh that Luca is a vile wee prick. The men this year (Luca, Davide and Dami in particular) are so misogynistic and the double standard they hold the women to is disgusting. Like a pp, would love to see all the women bin them off. I don't think Paige likes Luca.

I think it's the environment they're in. There's no escape, no other options and if they keep the argument going or stand their ground for too long the atmosphere must be suffocating.

There needs to be something that can happen to allow a toxic pairing to be ended without consequence for the victim, pretty much always the girls. Because to stay in they have to stay with these absolutely awful men.

Jessesgirl13 · 18/07/2022 08:41

I really hope that if Michael Owen and his wife go in for the family meet that they call Luca out on his behaviour! There's no way that they'd be happy with his treatment of Gemma last night and need to say so and not just be polite about it if they make up!

AbsoluteShambles · 18/07/2022 08:50

anybloodyname · 18/07/2022 06:01

What we need are companies like Pretty Little Thing and Boohoo to stand up and say we will not be having our products endorsed by such misogynistic examples

Do now allow them to go and " influence " anywhere , Dubai does not need them either

Luca can go back selling fish
Gemma can continue her successful career with her head screwed on

I cannot wait for her mum to come in , hope she tells her straight - get rid

I’m totally caught up here so it might have been said already but boohoo was active on twitter last night and unimpressed with Luca.

AbsoluteShambles · 18/07/2022 09:11

*Not totally

But I am now. Grin

Here are the Boohoo tweets from last night.

Michael Owen has said he won't be going in, he'll leave it to Gemma's mum

marmiteadict · 18/07/2022 09:36

Yes, Micheal Owen said from the start he won't be going in.

Gemma's mum has been in the media eye since a young age. I very much doubt she'll go in on Luca all guns blazing (however justified) Anything she says will be very carefully considered I'm guessing.

It would be really up to Luca's friends and family to take him to task should they feel his behaviour is inappropriate. His sister seems very media savvy and so may again say something but again, I would imagine it would be carefully worded.
