Look, judge me for going early but I'm down the pub again tomorrow and I need to make sure your commentaries and observations are all being jotted down in an orderly fashion 😂

Be darlings though, and fill up the other one first....

That's a great reaction from BooHoo.

Friendship101 · 18/07/2022 09:47

I think Gemma knows this isn’t right but then we all need to remember this is a game, she’ll be torn as she’s in a ‘safe’ couple without a clue what the public are saying. If she dumps him does that risk her shot at the prize in her mind. Her parents seem completely aware of how screwed on her head is and I don’t think they’ll need to say much at all to her.

i feel sorry for Luca’s sister, she’s been on the receiving end of his nasty messages. As much as I’m in agreement his behaviour is alarming the messages being sent to his sister is awful. I do think she’ll speak to him but I also think she’s completely in awe of him and he can do no wrong in her eyes.

AbsoluteShambles · 18/07/2022 09:56

PLT have tweeted about all the boys being shit too.

Iain Stirling back on form with his annoying little knob comment!

I loved the "three men and a baby" 😂😂😂

jay55 · 18/07/2022 10:19

I can understand Gemma not wanting to deal with a breakup with Luca in there.
We know he'd follow her around asking why/pleading/throwing insults/giving his reasons why she's wrong, on repeat all day, with no escape.

Hopefully they’ll do the “Twitter” game and she’ll see what the public think about him

Oh I hope so.

Zampa · 18/07/2022 11:13

Can't disagree with PPs.

Trying to work out what the issue with these boys is and if they're typically modern young men. Is it a decline in male confidence and weak masculinity that they can't deal with strong women? Are they expecting subservient wifeys?

I never came across men like this in my 20s but then I'm very assertive and they probably wouldn't come within a mile of me anyway.

Hrpuffnstuff1 · 18/07/2022 11:20

Luca-crashing and burning, Gemma has done nothing wrong, she tells it as it is.
Tasha is oblivious to her actions-crybaby. Deluded.
Andrew-cringe, such a sap.
Davide-Ekin has no idea what the issue is. The issue is that Davide values himself higher than Ekin, he ain't chasing. Ekin thinks she's a Goddess. Deluded.
Dami-what on earth-keep quiet man, he keeps digging.
Billy-twat face looks like a twat-snake.
Jaques-nutter brought it all on himself.
Paige-cute-but a bubblehead-rubbish advice-people pleaser.
Danica-Boring.
Indiyah-cute-doesn't stress-chilled.
Jay-Booooring.

Some cringe tv this yr though. Proper laugh-out-loud moments.

JacquelineCarlyle · 18/07/2022 11:21

I agree with you @Zampa

GreenWasTheColour · 18/07/2022 11:36

I want the Twitter challenge to just be those tweets calling out the men. I'd love for the women in the villa to realise how shitty the men are and how the public are perceiving this nasty, misogynistic behaviour.

This season has become quite upsetting to watch - the men cackling and whooping and jeering while they treat the women like shit. It would be incredible for the producers to turn it around, lay it out for them all to see and for the girls to couple up with each other and take the cash.

I caught a bit of Aftersun last night and was really disappointed that Laura tried to defend Luca's behaviour as 'just being in love'. It's such a poisonous, harmful narrative to justify abusive and toxic relationships. He isn't acting like this because he's a poor little lovestruck puppy, he's a controlling misogynist festooned in red flags.

The fun has really been sucked out of the show by these nasty pornsick women-hating blokes. I'm watching in the desperate hope of finally seeing some female empowerment but so far its all appeasement.

TitsInAbsentia · 18/07/2022 11:51

This is interesting.
And not surprising given we can all clearly see the producer's agenda playing out daily.

I agree with you all - it is so hard to watch. I’m watching with teen DD and teen DS. DS is horrified at the boys. He was shocked that anyone would call a girl a bird 😂 I said, you should have heard what was considered wit in the 1970’s 🙄.

DD said none of her friends would put up with any of that rubbish from Luca, Jacques, Dami or Davide. And she was disgusted at the boys’ double standards and hypocrisy.

Hopefully it is all called out and all
of the boys are sent packing. I don’t see one redeemable one in there. Those tweets are heartening.

Annasgirl · 18/07/2022 12:03

Wow, just read your update - I’m disgusted they let that lie play out. My DC thought she had done something- they believed George - why is a man’s word still worth more than a woman’s????

thequeenoftheandals · 18/07/2022 12:26

I think I am going to go against the grain here and say that I think Davide is playing up to the boys in a toxic masculine way as he’s genuinely untrusting of ES. I think he likes her but doesn’t trust her hence the finger clicking and the comments. ES is a liar and she does cause shit, there’s no denying that.

I really liked Indiyah but she didn’t interject when she heard a man speak to another woman in front of her in that way, why? She heard the ‘summer isn’t over’ comment he made, so she should know he’s a dick. He’s playing games HUGE games and he somewhat, at times lets the nice guy mask slip.

Billy is a POS. He’s there for the ‘jokes’ but Gemma is supposedly his best mates best mate. If I was this best mate I’d call Billy out for being a huge dong.

Luca….what the actual fuck can you say about this walking, talking, Tippex teethed, close your motherfucking mouth when you’re chewing, dickhead bre? He’s actual scum. Can you imagine if Gemma wasn’t so chill, and laid back? He’d fucking gaslight her to the core, he’s disgustingly damaging. She SPOKE to billy - she didn’t egg him on, she didn’t do anything to encourage his chat and the way he speak to her, it’s just despicable. I HOPE to the heavens, she dumps him and walks. Fuck the £50k she’ll be sure to get a legion of fans for dumping that prick. She doesn’t need the cash. Please please dump Luca.

A lot of shit said about Paige necking on with Adam after Jacques….I actually think she was sad he was leaving because she didn’t wanna be guilted into following him/waiting for him and she was actually done with him way before he walked. She's still super annoying with her head bobble. But I liked her for calling Luca a boring bastard.

Andrew and Tasha, they seemed to come off the best in the challenge which is weird. They are still super toxic and I want them binned. Also Andrew needs to really assess his friendship with Luca the Loser as if a mate was talking THAT much shut about your girl, you’d call him out on it and say stfu and be civil or you and I are done. Not okay for Luca to be coming at Tasha as much as he has done.

This show this season has become less about entertainment and more so about using this an example to show the younger generation (my cousins and so on) about what is NOT acceptable behaviour. The misogyny is utterly damaging, as is calling Jacques out for being a ‘pussy’ for crying. Toxic masculinity is equally damaging.

No one to win this shit season.

ludocris · 18/07/2022 12:59

Aquarius1234 · 17/07/2022 22:22

It looked liked Paige was not into that kiss at all lol

I thought that. Her facial expression and body language after the kiss were really awkward.

Sadly I don't think that Gemma's family will tell it to her like it is about Luca. By the time they come in this will all have blown over, the story arc will have moved on, and they'll be the most likely couple to win. Plus his family will come in and say how proud they are of him and what a journey he's been on.

They never seem to get their comeuppance. With the exception of Jake possibly.

FooFightersFan · 18/07/2022 13:17

Luca is nasty. And so is Billy.
How can they sit there with Gemma and say Billy was confused about whether Gemma wanted to flirt with Billy.
Gemma has never demonstrated any bs in there. I really admire how level headed she is.
But when she was sat around the fire pit (with that annoying little nob 🙄 ) you could see in her face the emotion. I read it as disbelief and confusion over Luca’s reaction. She looked hurt. She has be straight with everyone, and for Luca that is clearly not enough. It seems he wants exclusivity and submission from her.
Luca behaved appallingly in that episode. Egging on the boys sexist behaviour. You could tell they had all had more alcohol than usual, especially in the cabin chats. But, Luca, he doesn’t drink. So he was stone cold sober. And he still over reacted to the films.
Run, Gemma, Run!

NeolithicSkull · 18/07/2022 13:21

Luca is just awful in that episode. Gemma knows of Billy from real life, didn't she say he was a best friend of a good friend of hers. To me the clips just showed her kindly brushing Billy off without denting his ego or embarrassing him on TV.

Luca has that awful toxic paranoia. Looking for reasons to take offence. I really hope Gemma ends it before leaving the villa. She is going to get so much attention when she leaves and rather than enjoy it, she will be constantly talking Luca down, reassuring Luca, walking on eggshells around Luca. I wonder if this is why he doesn't drink, because the anger which is always simmering spills over.

He made an interesting comment on a recent episode - someone mentioned fish and he said he ever wanted to see a fish again (or some such). He thinks he is going to leave the villa a star and is looking for easy entry into the celebrity world - all the so much easier if his girlfriend's family is already connected.

It is a marker of the calibre of the male contestants this year when Adam is coming across as the 'gentleman' of the show.

FooFightersFan · 18/07/2022 13:33

Yes. Brushing Billy off, but kindly and without denting his ego. That’s so right.
She is emotionally so mature, and it only highlights how immature Luca is.

But Billy playing along with being ‘confused’ and Luca and other boys jumping on that and agreeing. To save their masculine pride. At the expense of Gemma.

And yet Luca wouldn’t want a woman who other guys didn’t fancy. Just wow. He wants total control, and complete devotion from a partner. 🤮

Picoloangel · 18/07/2022 13:36

@thequeenoftheandals

you are living in my head - EXACTLY what I have been saying and thinking. All of it.

Davide is NOT the same as Dami and Luca. ES has repeatedly lied to him.

rainbowninja · 18/07/2022 13:55

The thing is, the whole point of movie night is to make the contestants jealous or appalled by the person they are coupled up with’s behaviour. Even though the Gemma clip didn’t show her doing anything wrong, Luca feels like his mates are expecting him to stand up for himself. He’s more concerned about how it makes him look than he is concerned that there is anything between Billy and Gemma. I’m so glad that Gemma can see right through this and hope she holds her ground.

Bellagio40 · 18/07/2022 13:59

I’m sure Gemma has already made up her mind that she will dump Luca after the show, if not before. She’s a bright, attractive, well-connected girl with a great future ahead of her. She knows she doesn’t need that tosser dragging her down and making her question herself.

NeolithicSkull · 18/07/2022 14:03

Agreed about Davide - he is not trying to control Ekin Su, he is holding himself back because he doesn't trust her. For good reason. I also think he is just not that into her. There is just no-one else more appealing. I think she amuses him and she is obviously very attractive but he is very emotionally distant.

Picoloangel · 18/07/2022 14:09

I suspect Davide has been hurt in the past and is wary of letting his guard down. He can do the flirty banter and cheeky snog stuff but the emotional letting go he came so. She’s pushing his buttons because she has lied to him and she’s done it more than once.

Whatever George is now saying post LI it makes no sense if nothing happened that she asked him not to say anything. 🤷‍♀️

A580Hojas · 18/07/2022 14:17

I missed last night's episode and will not watch it now as I don't want to be thoroughly depressed by the misogyny of the male contestants.

But ... could Gemma hear what Luca was saying about her or was it behind closed doors? I want her to dump him NOW, not wait a moment longer! She doesn't need the £50k but does need to keep her reputation as a strong girl who knows what she wants, not to submit to angry, hypocritical tantrumming from her ridiculous "partner".

Luca is like Jacques x 100. Prick. and I said he was dangerous from the start, not that it gives me any pleasure to be proved right.
