I think splitting Tasha and Andrew will have a lot of the guys 'getting to know' Tasha. It could open things right up.
It's been annoying that so many of them have stayed with someone they don't fancy to not rock the boat.

Who would Andrew pick?

Last week getting new girl to pick Luca had zero affect on the house, it's clear they're trying the same again, and hoping for a different result.

Fushiadreams · 24/06/2022 17:44

How come folks watch it and are so invested on it they are on here when totally convinced it’s so so scripted and they are all excellent actors

every single contestant as said the picking is never tampered with. They never tell people who to go for. What they do have though is the luxury of seeing much more than us and the ability to manipulate the picking order for more drama they can also create situations where would be couples spend time together,

Daneka picked Luca for no other reason than she arrogantly thought he’s flip Gemma for her, and it would be major drama. It was like a challenge she thought she’d win.

Zampa · 24/06/2022 18:15

I agree @Fushiadreams . I think PPs' belief that the show is scripted/set up are wide of the mark. I also don't think most of the contestants are as calculated as people think.

jay55 · 24/06/2022 18:32

They have a bunch of contestants waiting to go in, they'll be asked who they fancy the most in the villa and entry order will be determined by what producers would like to happen at that time.
They might not have said pick Luca, but sending in someone who fancies him gives a high chance of it happening:

Same with releasing results of popularity polls or reading out tweets or which conversations have multiple reshoots and which don't, all are going to cause reactions and changes in behaviour. It's all manipulation, doesn't have to be explicitly telling the contestants they must do x and y.

It's still entertaining. And when you get someone who doesn't give a stuff, or doesn't react as expected it makes it all the more fun.

CarpyDiem · 24/06/2022 18:38

I think we all know it's not scripted as such. Enough islanders have commented on rules and level of guidance to show that ideas are seeded though. Also people are told to go for a chat. Producers talk frequently to islanders, and that will give nudges too

And of course the production team can set the voting in such a way that it can be skewed (some excluded from the vote, perhaps, or whether it goes with public choice, or if the bottom ones are ones they don't want to sack on the spot, then give islanders the choice, of bottom two, or three depending on who they think they'd pick)

And they get to choose what we see - possibly the biggest confounder of all!

There was a TV series about a (fictional) reality show and how far it's manipulated. The name eludes me (and google searches are getting crowded out with score of pages about other reality shows). Written by an insider

jay55 · 24/06/2022 18:41

UnReal, fictionalised behind the scenes of the bachelor.

Newpuppymummy · 24/06/2022 18:42

Predictions for tonight?

We won’t see much of Indiya and Dami.

More Ekin Sue drama

Tasha pretending she is having a dilemma over Andrew/Charlie

Davide feigning interest in Danica so she will keep him in

CarpyDiem · 24/06/2022 18:46

That's it!

Thank you Jay

lothermand · 24/06/2022 19:52

@Zampa there's a certain amount of scripting, however..you cannot script emotions, they are real, so there are definite situations where even if it's scripted, emotions are involved..

Does that make sense? I am drinking wine so maybe it doesn't🤷🏻‍♀️

marmiteadict · 24/06/2022 19:59

@jay55 Unreal is a great insight into reality TV. It isn't staged, reactions are suggested as a 'friend' producer.

FatPatsCat · 24/06/2022 20:02

Does nobody else think ES' lips are massively migrated filler?

MotherofKitties · 24/06/2022 20:23

I agree with PP re it looks like that he'll choose Ekin over Tasha, but imagine is he chose Tasha - the drama with the lads, and Ekin Su's reaction! It would be excellent.

Actually I think she’s a very attractive woman, good for her. I think her personality is the issue. It makes her unattractive, she is always all about the drama and creates much of it. It’s attention seeking and you can see when she does it it’s fake, she doesn’t really give a shit if jay and Paige shag themselves silly. I actually think when jay was telling her she was thinking “wtf are you telling me, I don’t care”.

and it’s worked she is likely the most famous and controversial person in there.

Anyway, that’s why she reacted as she did with jay, she simply didn’t care then realised she’d missed an opportunity for air time, went to the bedroom, fixed her hair and make up, checked herself out, and then went in for a dramatic scene she knew would be shown.

her appearance is actually one of the few things she has going for her and is pretty much an enabler, as men are suckers for a pretty face.

Compared to last year's girls, no!

I think the story arc this year will be ES and Davide overcoming their demons and mistakes and making a real go of it, with Gemma/Luca as supporting cast of young lurve

Jellykat · 24/06/2022 21:06

Antigone looking worried, shes not clicked with any blokes really has she..

Question: do you reckon the cleaners nip in before the recoupling to change sheets? they must do surely..

jay55 · 24/06/2022 21:07

I'd hope they dettol the whole bedroom.
Febreze really ought to hop in on the product placement.

prinnycessa · 24/06/2022 21:07

@Jellykat I was thinking this the other day! I think so because there's a move around. They must change the drawers too as they have their names on and are in front of their beds

Aquarius1234 · 24/06/2022 21:09

Antigoni seems like she might not be totally into men.

Aquarius1234 · 24/06/2022 21:10

ES wears crazy amount of makeup.. she looks good natural.

Can you tell i've been cleaning holiday lets all day? Grin was just thinking of the bed swap / secretions malarkey
Oo yes hadn't thought of the drawers!

Thinking Tashas being a bit shady

Aquarius1234 · 24/06/2022 21:12

I hate how the whole show revolves around nothing happening. Just slow talks.

Jellykat · 24/06/2022 21:20

Who's Andrew gonna pick if Charlie goes first and picks Tasha? bit of a kick in the teeth ..

jay55 · 24/06/2022 21:24

Ooooo they are doing it in a right strategic order.

jay55 · 24/06/2022 21:25

Who will Jaques choose?

Jellykat · 24/06/2022 21:26

Charlie shafted Jaques there, and also i'd be feeling like sloppy seconds if i was Andrew!
