New drama starting for 4 nights 8 episodes of 30m so 2 a night

drama series - an adaptation of the Danish drama Forhøret - stars Nesbitt as long-serving detective Danny Frater, who receives a major shock after conducting what he assumes is a routine ID check on a dead body. It turns out the body is that of his estranged daughter Christina (Imogen King).

To make the situation worse the doctor carrying out the post-mortem tells him his daughter's death was caused by suicide.

But Frater doesn't believe the post-mortem and sets out to uncover the truth about what really happened to her.

Joining James Nesbitt in Suspect are a host of big names, including Richard E. Grant, Anne-Marie Duff, Joely Richardson, Ben Miller and Niamh Algar. Nesbitt has spoken highly of his co-stars on the show, hailing the “amazing” strength of the cast..

Suspect sees Frater working through a list of potential suspects episode by episode - with one of those suspects being Christina’s mentor, Harry, played by Grant. Gradually, Frater pieces together a clearer picture of his daughter’s tragic decline.

Usually because everyone else is watching what they watch and unless everyone else goes out I don't watch anything. Im currently trying to get my phone to work the apps though, so fingers crossed soon I'll be able to watch a few programmes again.

Grim so far. Not sure we'll get to episode 2

I'm finding it very odd.

I'm not enjoying, each episode is mainly a two-handed with Nesbitt up against another (well known) actor. I may just watch the last 1 to find out what happened.

Nesbit throwing his weight around. Not very convincing.

Not feeling it. Switched over.

Not grabbing me like his last one (on Netflix, a Harlan coben adaptation)

But an watching 2nd anyway.

James Nesbitt obviously dyes his eyebrows these days , and on this it's looks like he is wearing eyeliner .

I was wondering about his eyebrows and eyeliner! It was really distracting!
not sure of it, seems a little contrived.

Usually this kind of thing is right up my street but no don't like it.

Both episodes in a dimly lit room arguing with a woman. JN looks weird. Acting not great. To get involved you have to have sympathy for the character and be rooting for him to find out what happened but I don't like him he's an arsehole and his daughter doesn't seem that nice either so who cares?!

Has anyone see the original Danish version (and if so, was that any good)?

I missed the last few minutes of the second episode. What happened please ?
He was talking to his daughter's wife in the apartment after the police had left.

Why are C4 showing the programme in two shorter episodes straight after each other on one day instead of just one longer episode ?
RTE have done this too with Conversations with Friends.
2 episodes straight after each other instead of one combined one.
It's annoying.

He grabbed her bag and looked in it ,accused her of taking it from the flat , there was a roll of something ( I think quite a wad of money , he turned around and she wacked him over the head , he blacked out and saw visions of his daughter.

It's on again tonight , but I won't bother.

I have it on record but I'm not sure if I'll continue watching it.

Obviously the fantastic and brilliant Sherwood is on tonight. I know which programme I'll be watching.

only got to the ad breaks and gave up. Found it awful - neither character/actor believable and I lost sympathy when he grabbed the keys and legged it. Just ridiculous!

There's better series on TV at the mo - will stick to Sherwood!
