Fizzy I like the idea of re-jigging the draw. Maybe they could start with a regular seeded draw, just for the first round, and then re-draw it after every round. No-one would know the route to the final in advance-make it very interesting. Could end up with some big upset. Bet Rafa would still end up with Novak .

But yes, as the highest remaining seed, behind Djok, Rafa should just move up and take Daniil's place now

I am very nervous about tonight. I shouldn't be, I should have faith- he's beaten him many times at RG before. But it feels different this year- and they have orgainised it to make it so it favours Djok, clearly.

Apologies to Sascha, who is obviously the highest seed remaining behind Novak.
Don't want to upset him, he's already annoyed that Carlos is getting all the column inches.

It will be interesting to watch Sascha and Carlos this afternoon - there might be quite a lot of posturing and fist pumping going on!

I need to have faith in Rafa as well but yes I agree it does seem different this year and there’s always the foot issue lurking in the background - he did say he would fight to the end and I’m sure he will - just hope it’s enough. I do not want to see Djok and his smug face lifting the trophy!

My dilemma is do I boycott tonight's match because I always avoid Djokovic, or do I watch it because I ❤💓Rafa? ('scuse the weird hearts, my browser doesn't seem to like this site)

Morning Rafas . I hate watching Djok- and there is nothing worse than Rafa playing him. I will watch- and hope for a quick start , and a 2020 final type result.

Just been out, and caught the end of the first set between Fernandez/Trevisan. Looks like Trevisan is going to to spoilt the party for '19 year olds' if Fernandez doesn't turn it round.

Morning all, I'm in two minds whether to watch later too. Hoping for an easy Carlos win this afternoon.
I didn't see any tennis yesterday did Rune play well or did Steph fall apart? I used to enjoy watching Steph play but he's so sulky/grumpy these days - he just doesn't look like he's having fun out there.

Mama from what I saw, it was a bit of both - Rune played like a player with nothing to lose, and Stef played knowing that all the expectation was on him. Rune has a good serve. They've never played before,either- and that can often help the less experienced player, I think.

I get the feeling Stef is a bit miffed by being pushed aside by the Carlos hype, too. He wants to be the first to win a slam. There are players that like the attention to go elsewhere, and stay under the radar. Stef isn't one of them.

Thanks Raahh - I don't think I've seen Rune play yet but he looked seriously happy in the after match pictures.

I agree about Steph, I think he wants to be the centre of attention/be the rising star - which he's just not anymore I don't think. Even if/when he wins a Grand Slam it's not going to be a really Wow thing anymore - if anything he and Sasha are starting to look like they aren't fulfilling their potential. Which probably is unfair but....

I saw the highlights of the Cilic match and he looked incredible - really hard to predict whose gonna make the final from that side of the draw.

The booing was very obvious- it must have been, Alize looked really concerned, Alex just thought it was disrespectful.

Mama it does feel a bit like Stef and Sascha have 'had their moment' and are in danger of being left behind. Which is nuts, really, since, I think, outside of the the big 3 (and Delpo) all the recent slam winners have been 25 or older when they won their first one.

Fernandez has turned things around and won the second set then.
