I've just seen Marc Lopez is retiring, after losing his doubles, with Alcaraz. He's a big mate of Rafa's and I remember his gold medal doubles win in Rio with him- although they won other titles together as well.

Murray has pulled out of his match against Djok with an illness.

Be interesting to see how Dan does against Rublev.
Charismatic Cameron is playing Carlos later- would be a rubbish birthday if Carlos lost again on the day, he will want to prove himself I think.

Rafa will probably be glad to have a match under his belt. Difficult to know if Goffin will be a threat really, he's on a decent run after his injuries last year.

I must admit, Jane I wondered about Marc. I think he was pretty much retired from singles, and was meant to retire in Barcelona (I think) but too a WC to play with Carlos in Madrid.

I don't know what I will see today- DD2 in theory should be 'off' as her primary is used as a polling station for local elections, but she's doing year 6 SATS next week, so they have been asked to go in for the morning.
