Wednesday BBC1 at 9pm for anyone interested. I really enjoyed the last series.

Just caught up, really think Any should have gone, the colours were chosen primarily from her design. She was focused on her design area refusing to help, and so would have thrown Fran under a bus, it was quite selfish. Then Fran took the blame, really liked her she was a lovely person.
Hope banjo wins he’s brilliant, missed his creative characterisation this week, do enjoy when he comes up with a character and storyline!

@Winniewonka

Best thing about Charlie's was the frontage. The turquoise and black were really striking and fitted the Art Deck theme. Inside reminded me of an eighties cafe in a shopping precinct. Peach and Teal look awful together. I'm going to say that I've been disappointed with Fran's last few designs and think she peaked too soon. I couldn't have chosen between them but to be fair to Amy she did say at the beginning that spending time on re upholstery wouldn't leave time for everything else and she was right. They ended up rushing and not finishing properly.
Although Amy also spend a stupid amount of time pairing chair legs back too.

Amy seems really grumpy to me especially when she doesn’t get her own way, seems a nightmare to work with. Out of everyone left it’s Banjo for me.

katienana · 15/04/2022 08:30

Amy seemed very resentful of Fran and crucially didn't say anything until it was too late to fix it. Banjo and Paul could have gone the same way but Banjo spoke up and they sorted it out. I think it was really unfair as the girls had so much more work to do.

User0610134049 · 15/04/2022 08:48

Banjo has been my favourite all along, Amy has nearly gone so many times I don’t think she’s ever really hit the mark.
Paul has not come across well at all
Am sad that Fran went, and the guy from earlier in the series with the white hair who went ott in the hotel

LadyDP · 16/04/2022 07:51

I think Amy and Mr Fractured wallpaper fell out on week 1 when they were paired together. I thought he was awful. However he has grown on me too. I think he is very funny and has a great sense of rhythm. (unusual in so many men)

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 17/04/2022 09:03

Only just caught up. I could not believe how bad the signage of Charlie’s was. It looked like Amy had used Letraset in Calibri.

Paul and Banjo were at a major advantage with their cafe but in fairness it was the stronger design. Did anyone else think that Paul’s wood and rope light fittings looked exactly like gallows? I kept waiting for someone to notice and mention it.

PriamFarrl · 17/04/2022 20:39

I’ve just caught up.

The women’s cafe was very wishy-washy and I thought it looked drab.

The men’s was better but that had a more interesting lay out to start with, as well as that dark blue.

Ohwellnevermindthen · 17/04/2022 22:25

@florentina1

I wonder if they will be able to choose some contestants to help them in the final. I loathe Paul. I am for banjo to win.
I think Paul would choose clones of himself. I am warming to his character a bit now. I think if you accept his ego, he could be quite a good laugh on a night out.

I think Banjo is probably the best designer left. I think Amy has had some great practical design ideas, but doesn't have a distinctive style and has always tried to shoehorn wallpaper in when it isn't always called for. Paul is quite handy and has àlot of skills and has some nice design ideas, bit I wouldn't call his style particularly modern. He is a solid designer, but not very inventive. I do think Banjo is a bit more creative and has the most potential in general. His first room was bloody crap though!

I have preferred the designs in previous years, but I'm not a fan of peach as a colour and there seems to have been a lot of it this year.

Halsall · 18/04/2022 09:37

Did anyone else think that Paul’s wood and rope light fittings looked exactly like gallows?

Yep, I said that to DH! Grin

Tothepoint99 · 18/04/2022 09:45

Banjo is the best imo. Very humble and genuine. No ego! Although Amy doesn't have an ego really. He has great vision and executes them brilliantly.

cameocat · 18/04/2022 10:00

I quite like Amy's wallpaper but she doesn't have much more to offer. I've disliked her things more than liked them.
I don't like everything Paul has done, it hasn't stood out and I disliked his obsession with French last episode when it was nothing to do with French or French Caribbean. I also did not like his bespoke material.

Whilst I haven't always loved everything Banjo has done, I've certainly appreciated it and think he's the most creative.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 20/04/2022 16:52

Had a long, hard weekend and early week.

Really looking forward to tonight’s episode.

Might even have a glass of wine.

LemonViolet · 20/04/2022 21:02

Signing in. Also rubbish day. Getting wine :-)

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 20/04/2022 21:04

Fucking hate Amy after last week.

I went with tea rather than wine so expect intelligent and thoughtful critique.

SoupDragon · 20/04/2022 21:04

I'm here but I doubt I'll be posting much this evening as I have to click the bloody cookie consent every time I do anything and it's a pain in the arse.

LemonViolet · 20/04/2022 21:04

Ooooh lodges! Open plan living and outdoor deck area! Fab 😀

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 20/04/2022 21:06

I love Michelle’s wallpaper.

That would look banging in my sitting room.

Wheresmywoolyjumpers · 20/04/2022 21:06

Great challenge - my money is on Banjo unless he stuffs up. Amy does weird things at time, and Paul is not quite as considered as Banjo.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 20/04/2022 21:09

A canoe?

On the ceiling?

With one singular lightbulb hanging down?

I love it!

Halsall · 20/04/2022 21:10

They’ve been in a lodge before in a previous series, haven’t they? Maybe not these exact ones but very similar.

Paul as modest as ever Hmm

jay55 · 20/04/2022 21:11

These are close to where my dad lives. Hope I can go for a nosy sometime.

LemonViolet · 20/04/2022 21:13

Erm. I think I like Paul’s plan. Argh! I like all of them actually.

Coracle light fitting as well 😁is it just me or does “coracle” make anything else think of Reepicheep paddling off the edge of the world in Narnia. Am I showing my age?

jay55 · 20/04/2022 21:13

Cocktail bar under the stairs, banged head every time.

SwedishEdith · 20/04/2022 21:14

Don't you need to prime those kitchen cupboard doors before painting them?

Wheresmywoolyjumpers · 20/04/2022 21:14

That bit always makes me cry, @LemonViolet . Not sure about it as a light, though. And I am worried for Banjo with the yellow!
