BBC 2 8pm tonight (feb 1st) Tom Kerridge is one of the new judges.

Can't wait to see some soil and steam and shoehorned themes.

Sally has the edge for me. I've seen her on Saturday Kitchen and I really like her cooking style. (Plus I still can't let Beverly Knight's Favourite Dessert slide. What next? Feargal Sharkey's Runner-up Side Salad?)

So far, tentatively, I'm enjoying the judging. Perhaps Ed Gamble doesn't quite have the authority of the previous judges but I prefer having judges who are enjoying the experience rather than ones who are looking for something to sneer at.
