Probably would be a bit chilly for Rafa, Fizzy, even Paris in October was pushing it.Grin.

Yes, it does sound like they might be mixing up the Night Manager Grin, I don't remember TH being mentioned when the wedding actually happened!

I saw that they wanted to name airport after him - and it just made me think of the one named after DjokGrin.

JaneJeffer · 04/02/2022 15:17

I am getting nowhere fast today. Maybe I should put on Beijing and have done with it. I saw a programme about how Muslims are being treated in China the other night. It's an awful country. They shouldn't have been allowed the Olympics. The whereabouts of Peng Shuai are still unknown but the president of the IOC is supposed to meet with her there.

I listened to a podcast about Peng Shuai Jane - the whole thing is very worrying and disturbing - hope that she doesn’t get forgotten about

The airport thing made me think about Djok as well Raahh - not really sure that Rafa is up for that sort of thing! (Hopefully we won’t get another scary statue!)

Raahh · 04/02/2022 16:13

Jane I must admit, I did wonder why the Olympics were in China at all, for a variety of reasons.
I hope Peng Shuai is not forgotten. Amongst the whole Djok fiasco, there was a danger that something really important would be allowed to be swept under the carpet.

And no, another dodgy statue of Rafa is something the world doesn't need - and an airport shop selling Rafa souvenirs (maybe boxes of grapes Grin).

ThePennyJustDropped · 04/02/2022 17:00

Oh my days. I thought Rafa's T-shirt was sort of highlighting that Roger doesn't own the letters R&F, you know kind of taking back use of the alphabet for his own name. That or just his way to reference his friend Roger and ignore Djok. Literally didn't see the 21 there at all. I'm such a div Blush

It does look like one, doesn't it? Grin

TottiePlantagenet · 04/02/2022 22:52

I've signed up for Laver Cup info too, fingers crossed! I'm off to look up Rafa photos now.

Alize Cornet has written a novel!

Oh, well done Alize! Grin

I promised myself I would do lots of stuff this morning.

But DD2 woke me up early (again) ,so I gave up, put the washing on, and watched the curling. Grin.

Raahh · 07/02/2022 08:27

I've just seen that Bublik beat Zverev in the Montpelier final. He is Andy's first opponent in Rotterdam, so he has to fancy his chances a bit.
Rotterdam is on Prime, at least. Something to watch, when I'm not watching curling.Grin.

JaneJeffer · 07/02/2022 13:15

My Prime seems to be on the blink Angry

OP posts:
Raahh · 08/02/2022 07:18

That's not good Jane I must admit, I didn't get chance to see anything yesterday, even though I meant to.
I do find the Prime on my tv can be hit and miss- but it is nice to be able to have the options of more than one match.
I did see that Hubi beat Tsonga- and Norrie beat Ugo, who hasn't had the best start to the year really, after such a good year last year. Oh, and Goffin is out.

Mama1980 · 09/02/2022 07:36

Oh my goodness. Did anyone else see the Del Potro match?
So emotional- bless him it was heartbreaking to see him sobbing into his towel - but the crowd were absolutely amazing in supporting him.

Raahh · 09/02/2022 08:21

Mama I missed it. Sad.I really feel for him- I belieive he was always 'the one that got away' in terms of being a massive threat to the dominance Big 3 (apart from Murray). He definitely would have won more slams, had he not been injured.

He said before thw tournament he wasn't sure if this was going to be the end of his career. It's so sad- he was playing brilliantly when he got injured last time.

If it was his last tournament, at least it was on home soil, against an Argentinian. Sad

kazzaD66 · 09/02/2022 08:42

I saw a couple of clips on the ATP Instagram. Unsurprisingly, it really got to Delpo.

Mama1980 · 09/02/2022 09:42

He is definitely the great 'what could have been' - he was incredible in that US Open final, on his best day he could and did challenge anyone.
It was really hard to watch, he was just so upset but hopefully he'll take comfort from all the support and go on to better things.

WellTidy · 09/02/2022 10:11

Sometimes I have to delete prime and then re-install it, to get anything more than a black screen.

I’ve seen some of the instagram clips of the Del Potro match too, hugely emotional for him. I am going to seek out some of the Davis Cup footage later on as he was absolutely amazing in that too. And hugely emotional again. One of my favourite players ever and so endearing.

Raahh · 09/02/2022 10:20

Delpo is absolutely one of the nicest men in the sport. The Davis Cup match was brilliant- one of my favourites will always be his match against Rafa at Wimbledon- it was not only a great match, but it was played in such a great spirit- and Tim and Andy commentating- well, they didn't need to say much really, because the tennis did speak for itself.

Raahh · 10/02/2022 19:49

Still haven't seen any tennis, but I have caught some scores- looks like Stef had an easy win, and Rublev. Norrie beat Khachanov. Not going too well for Murray against Felix at the moment.
Casper is doing well in Argentina- and Verdasco is too. NIce to see him still playing- i think he's been playing a lot of challengers recently.

Mama1980 · 12/02/2022 13:00

Hi all, I've been watching some of Rotterdam Felix is playing really well ......commentators were calling him the Brit 'slayer' lol

Raahh · 12/02/2022 13:04
Grin

Mama he can take over the titie from Berrettini- who beat Murray, Evans and Norrie at Queen's. Grin.

Mama1980 · 13/02/2022 16:28

Grin Raahh
Felix was awesome today, did anyone else watch? This could really be his year if he keeps playing like that.

WellTidy · 13/02/2022 16:59

I watched too. He made short work of Stef, didn’t he? So pleased that he has his first title and a lovely speech at the end. I like him very much.
