Just starting a thread for tonight's QT.

What with Boris Johnson and Andrew's "partying", this may get very heated

Me! I like Emily Thornberry, she’s so calm and measured but simultaneously forceful.

minou123 · 20/01/2022 22:44

I have to admit, I don't know much about Emily Thornberry, so I'll be interested to see what she says tonight.

So far, so good

I like Emily Thornberry too, and i've said it before.. we do not need an inquiry, it'll be a whitewash.

Jellykat · 20/01/2022 22:47

Spot on Emily!

minou123 · 20/01/2022 22:51

I don't know the writer, is his books good?
I love a good crime novel

No idea Minou, ive never read any of them, but hes coming across excellently, so i'd give his books a go..

That's exactly what I was thinking Grin

Go for it, and come back with a review Minou! Grin

Jellykat · 20/01/2022 22:59

No one anywhere cares what JRM has to say, not just in Scotland!

minou123 · 20/01/2022 23:02

I always hate when people say "there are more important things to talk about"

I think its quite conceited and patronising to tell people what should be important to them.

I couldn't give a shiney shite about the new washing machine filter thing, but if people feel it's important to them, then I'll listen and let them talk about it.

It's a bit like MN when a poster is told their problem is First World..... well maybe, but it's a concern for me right now. It's a public forum, not a parliamentary discussion

minou123 · 20/01/2022 23:16

Exactly BliainNua

I really don't like this Iain Anderson.

Some of the content of what he is saying is true, but his manner is winding me up

OP posts:
Pixxie7 · 20/01/2022 23:24

Watching it now, yes Boris got a mention but Andrew was mentioned at all. Mind you it was a Scottish audience so they have different priorities.

Jellykat · 20/01/2022 23:26

The woman in the red dress is winding me up, shes coming out with a lot of spiel instead of getting to the crux of the matter..

Oo a holiday homes question, I'm in Pembrokeshire, so i know all about that one.

minou123 · 20/01/2022 23:29

PA did come up last week. And the politicians were a little disappointing. They just kept talking about feeling sorry for the Queen.

I think politicians try to avoid saying anything disparaging about anything related to the Queen. So even if a question was asked, I imagine the answers would very bland. Like last week.

I imagine, excluding the writer Chris, they all have holiday homes/2nd homes.

Its would imagine so Minou!

minou123 · 20/01/2022 23:36

That seemed to go quickly.

Thanks fellow hardcore QT mumsnetters.
Maybe see you next week

OP posts:
Jellykat · 20/01/2022 23:38

Hmm, well not much to add to that episode, lets see what the next week has in store news wise, more bullshit i expect.. see you next Thursday Minou!

Chris Brookmyre was on Question Time! Bollocks, I love him, but never watch Question Time.

He was really good. Highlight for me was when he called Jacob Rees Mog "Steampunk C3PO" Grin

Have you read his books? Are they good?

DahliaMacNamara · 21/01/2022 00:17

Get reading now. Start with Quite Ugly One Morning. Meanwhile, I'll look for Question Time tomorrow.

O thanks for continuing the thread, I couldn't take any more politics last night so went to bed. I'll watch it later today.
