If I remember someone said it was 47?

JohnnyEyebrows · 17/01/2022 22:41

@SilverPeacock sexual harassment type claims. He managed to emerge eventually relatively unscathed

Surely they wouldn't refer to that on a Saturday teatime show, though

kindlyensure · 17/01/2022 23:15

I'm still convinced Poodle is May. It's the sciencey bit that is most compelling I think. Also, am sure one of the equations on the board was E=MC2 which is something to do with mass and light speed (and Einstein but Poodle is not Albert, obvs). Anyway, Queen travelled at the speed of light (call me Mr Farenheit...) In as much as the clues fit anyone they deffo fit him.

Ellmau · 17/01/2022 23:16

@Sunbird24

Is there a website or anything where the clues for each finger get consolidated? Just wondering if Traffic Cone has ever mentioned walking on air… Grin
The word high has been used a couple of times.
JohnnyEyebrows · 17/01/2022 23:29

@SpanishFly well, no. They don't tend to refer to contestants past misdemeanours on light entertainment shows. It was a fair while back now and he was not prosecuted

I'm pretty sure Aled apologised, it wasn't deemed as an assault and he's emerged relatively unscathed with his job back etc. Think he was suspended

JaneJeffer · 17/01/2022 23:43

I agree @kindlyensure. There's so many clues leading to Brian May.

APJ1 · 18/01/2022 02:37

Traffic Jones had a clue in his first VT about being known for taking his top off. Can anyone work out what that really means for him?

SpanishFly · 18/01/2022 09:33

yes, that was literally my point - he/they wouldn't even refer to them on this show

ColdNovemberRain · 18/01/2022 17:08

I've mainly lurked and occasionally posted on these threads for the last two series, plus the dancer series and this year I promised myself I would stay away. I was going to work out the clues all by myself and have some proper shock moments at the unmaskings. I've cracked though and it's all that bloody poodle's fault. I knew that I knew the voice but couldn't place it at all. I've now read this thread and the first one and I totally agree that it's Tom Chaplin. I'm listening to Hopes and Fears right now. We Might As Well Be Strangers is the one which really shows off the vocal similarities. The slight Gary Barlow tone to his voice but then those high notes! I can make a lot of the clues fit too. To be fair I can make a lot of the clues fit Brian May too but I don't hear his voice - my dad is a huge fan and plays a lot of his solo stuff. Plus, didn't he have an accident and break his coccyx fairly recently?

I don't know how I'm going to pretend that I've come up with this guess alone though. It was tough enough with Ne-Yo last time around, quite clearly my family knew I had had outside help!

You've also convinced me on Aled Jones for Traffic Cone and Mark Westlife for Robobunny. More "guesses" that I need to spin. Still unsure about most of the female performers though and now that I'm scratched my poodle itch, I'm going to try to stay away again (I won't though).

Agree with others who thought this sounded like the lowest form of entertainment when it was announced. I'm utterly hooked. I have a special masked singer notebook to take note of all the clues and work it all out and right now I'm measuring my week in terms of x days until the next MS episode.

Someone send help!

JaneJeffer · 18/01/2022 17:23

We're all beyond help @ColdNovemberRain Grin What do you think on Natalie Imbruglia for Panda?

ColdNovemberRain · 18/01/2022 18:02

Oh, that's not a bad shout based on voice and a few of the travel-based clues. The hammer seems important though - do you have any idea where that might fit? Also I can't shake off the comedy star badge as being a massive clue.

Tbh, my two biggest passions in life are mystery-detective type books/films/TV and music from 80s and 90s so I should have known this would be right up my street!

Piggywaspushed · 18/01/2022 18:33

If something gets ripped up at any point it will definitely be Natalie I. I agree the comedy badge is too important to overlook.

Loads of people are saying Tom Chaplin for Poodle and I agree it does sound a bit like him and the clues add up but surely a lot of people are going to be scratching their heads when the mask comes off if it is him. I don't think he's that recognisable or well known.

mooncheese · 18/01/2022 18:52

I was thinking the tents behind Panda looked a bit like Bake off tents with the bunting on them.

APJ1 · 18/01/2022 18:58

If we're going to look for any minute scraps of doubt re Pandalie Imbruglia - my googling re Things We Do For Love shows that a version of that 10CC song was recorded by...90s one-hit wonder (I think!) Tina Arena. Or as Joel would call her, AUSTRALIAN VOCAL LEGEND TINA ARENA. This is, after all, the show that captioned Joss Stone as 'international superstar', while Michelle Williams will probably just get 'former member of Destiny's Child'.

I promised myself I would stay away. I was going to work out the clues all by myself and have some proper shock moments at the unmaskings. I've cracked though and it's all that bloody poodle's fault.

The same vow I told myself, I broke after less than 24 hours! I blame Firework and her annoyingly-familiar-yet-could-be-anyone singing voice.

Sunbird24 · 18/01/2022 19:06

Tina Arena is apparently 5’10”…

kindlyensure · 18/01/2022 19:26

The thing is, it doesn't matter if you don't recognise them when they're unmasked because they always narrate it for you - 'it's Tom Chaplin from Keane, ladies and gentlemen!"

So you don't have time to go 'huh?' You're immediately like, OK, I've heard of Keane, so fair play.

It'll be the same with the Westlife chap.

I couldn't tell you who is in Westlife but I've heard of the band, so when Joel says "It's Mark thingy from Westlife, ladies and gentlemen!" I'll be like oh yeah, I've heard of Westlife (even though I still think it's Ant and Dec in there. And May is Poodle. Deffo can hear Aled as Traffic Cone though).

JaneJeffer · 18/01/2022 20:18

Sandi Tokavik did that Incredible Escapes programme and is tiny. I think the clues are completely random!
JaneJeffer · 18/01/2022 20:18

Toksvik!

JaneJeffer · 18/01/2022 20:19

Oh I give up Angry

See I think it does matter, how are we meant to have a go at guessing these people if we've never heard of them? That's part of the fun surely. I've got nothing against Keane, I just don't think they're mainstream enough for the Masked Singer, it's a bit of an odd choice. That's the only reason why I can see it being someone else.
WeAreTheHeroes · 18/01/2022 22:12

Right - this is totally out there and based on two things only: the hammer and the fact that and APJ1's belief Panda is Ms Imbruglia. What if it's actually Kylie?
