Is anyone going to be watching? I absolutely love it despite only ever having one go at throwing a pot at school, forgetting to take my foot off the pedal and watching as the clay shot off the wheel into the adjoining open-plan science area. Looking forward to the new host too as I felt the last one made it a bit like a vehicle for her stand-up comedy routine.

Tom would have been interesting doing this.

Wolfcub · 20/02/2022 20:05

Rose's face was a picture at that comment

Saucery · 20/02/2022 20:08

Anna’s looks like the half-head Demons in the Constantine film.

The others are just beautiful. So tactile and flowing.

Joystir59 · 20/02/2022 20:20

Can't stand awful Siobhan

HollowTalk · 20/02/2022 20:23

@Wolfcub

Christine's looks like a winner to me
It looks fantastic.

I missed the name of the challenge- can someone let me know? And what was AJ's about?

Joystir59 · 20/02/2022 20:24

How dare she join in the laughter at their candlesticks? She has no right. It's one thing for the expert judges to share a laugh with the expert potters, but not ok for her to join in, who does she think she is?

HollowTalk · 20/02/2022 20:24

@Joystir59

Me neither. It must be so irritating when you're trying to meet a deadline and she's banging on.
Joystir59 · 20/02/2022 20:25

AJ's is inspired by her love of being outdoors, and those rocks which have holes worn into them by small pebbles

Saucery · 20/02/2022 20:25

It’s a self portrait representation, HollowTalk. The arm touching the ground on AJ’s is how they ground themselves. Holes in it like stones on the beach that are on their way to becoming hagstones.

Thank you explaining it better than I did
HollowTalk · 20/02/2022 20:29

She is so lovely. I hate to think of her struggling with her identity.

Saucery · 20/02/2022 20:34

AJ reminds me of a friend I had in secondary school, who also refused to define herself along gender lines (although using pronouns to renounce wasn’t a Thing in the 80s). Might be why I have warmed to them even though I consider myself gender critical 🤷‍♀️

Because standing there stoneyfaced while everyone else was cracking up wouldn’t have looked at all odd would it Hmm
Wolfcub · 20/02/2022 20:41

If Christine doesn't get potter of the week I shall eat my hat

Saucery · 20/02/2022 20:41

Well, I’m sniffling already….

Jellykat · 20/02/2022 20:43

I like the patterning on Jennys, very delicate

lollipoprainbow · 20/02/2022 20:43

Really miss Ellie this week and (and tom)

Wolfcub · 20/02/2022 20:43

I'm missing Ellie too. I think she was a better fit for this group

comfortablyfrumpy · 20/02/2022 20:48

Ellie was heaps better.

Saucery · 20/02/2022 20:49

I would like it if they send no one home this week, it being such a personal project.

Agree.
LaChatte · 20/02/2022 20:51

Did anyone else feel a bit uncomfortable at the judges running their hands over the sculptures 😅 ?

Bouledeneige · 20/02/2022 20:52

I think Christine's was beautiful and worthy of the praise. I liked how it was more sparing with the combustible markings. Not so messy.

Agree about Siobhan - I liked her in previous series but they should have kept Ellie - she was much better.

Joystir59 · 20/02/2022 20:52

Gosh Christine's is so beautiful. I wish they could all stay.

Wolfcub · 20/02/2022 20:53

No but I was slightly wishing it was me when Rich was running his hands over Lucinda's
