As another poster said, the older kids could leave home and house share. Make room for their younger siblings.

@Sunsetsupernova

I couldn’t believe that the fry up cost them £50!! Their weekly food bill must be obscene.

I have to agree with the pie shop comments. I’d have been concerned about the temperature they were kept at if I was receiving those that were all just laid out on the counter. It looked like they needed more staff rather than bigger premises.

I saw an article in the news the other day saying their weekly food budget was £400, which doesn't make sense if a single fry up costs £50. Confused

They really haven't done themselves any favours by filming the pie shop, it was unhygienic and they didn't seem to follow even the basics in food safety.🤮

RevolvingPivot · 07/01/2022 11:17

It does have a 4 star hygiene rating

Gastricbland · 07/01/2022 13:14

I think it looks grim. Peeling paint, dirty sockets and like pp said no hairnets.

Apparently in the U.K. if fresh food is made on site it's nearly impossible to get 5 star food hygiene. If you're selling prepacked then it's possible. Could be wrong though.

felulageller · 07/01/2022 14:41

I've watched it since the start in amused bewilderment.

I noticed a change with the move to channel 5 from channel 4. They must be getting more money? It is clear their lifestyle comes from these programmes and the accompanying publicity/ YouTube etc.

They probably are better off than their peers from school! Most normal working class non uni educated families can't afford the big house, cars and holidays they have.

Channel 4 has a lot to answer for! If they hadn't started this I think they'd have stopped after Casper/ Oscar. If you look at the timeline of the births, they accelerated to one a year to make a new TV series every year.

What I do find perplexing is why the adult DC's don't move out!? Does sue still do all their laundry/ cooking. The boys are t going to make good DPs in the future! Imagine having them as in laws!

That's a shame that Millie is Pg again. Does she have a room of her own in the house with her 1/2 DC's?

2 of the DC's are disabled but I'm surprised this isn't mentioned more. Tillie's condition looked quite serious. And I agree that there are more autistic people in that house than max! If they are getting DLA and CA for them will that count of they say they don't get benefits!?

Autism is probably classed as a disability but does it mean you're disabled. Or were you meaning physically? I think Tillies leg is ok now it looks as though she no longer limps after her operation.
Blondeshavemorefun · 07/01/2022 15:29

I REM the leg. But what was wrong with it

I don't think this is true. There is less than a year between Millie and her closest sibling and several of the other older ones are not much more than a year apart.

I don't begrudge them taking a deal if its offered to them (I'd want suitable payment if my whole life including dirty laundry was up for public viewing) but I'm a bit Hmm about people who insist its all funded by the pie shop.

In the first series they had 15 children and if you added up the just the amount they claimed to have spent on food, and birthday and Christmas presents, and a new pram for each child, that is a pretty hefty amount before you even consider a mortgage, household bills, school uniforms, clothes, haircuts, school trips, vet bills phones, phones and phone bills for multiple teen children. I'm not sure 1 person working ft in a pie shop was funding all that.

I was actually surprised at the amount of baby/toddler clothes Sue still had - some still new with labels - and an unused moses basket and clothes for Alfie (which I can completely understand her wanting to keep) as I would have thought the clothes and baby stuff would have been used multiple times.

elvis4nuts · 07/01/2022 15:53

I will never ever understand the new pram for every baby thing.......

I guess it's part of their addiction to newborns. So unhealthy.
Gastricbland · 07/01/2022 17:20

Yes and in the last series when Hiedi was born they all went and bought brand new uniforms. Just why???

Terrible for the environment, waste of money and horrible attitude towards 'stuff' being disposable.

TheDuchessOfMN · 07/01/2022 17:34

I think there’s an element of “just because we have so many children, it doesn’t mean that any of them go without” (materialistically) hence the brand new everything. That and just general recklessness

RevolvingPivot · 07/01/2022 17:54

I have 2 dds the younger one has new stuff too but also has the older ones clothes coats and uniform and trainers even a bike. Obviously they are in ok condition. Isn't that normal for every family with same sex kids?

I'm not sure if my younger sister had my hair or stuff but she WAS bigger than me.

Whinge · 08/01/2022 09:59

I agree. They seem to buy expensive items and flash the cash as a way to prove that their children don't go without. When i'm sure all any of the kids want is some privacy and their own space. Sad

Also the new puppy that they've had for a month, turns out it's actually a bitch, and they haven't noticed. Confused I guess at least it prevents them from breeding some ridiculous cross breeds to sell for thousands.

Exhausteddog · 08/01/2022 10:20

My youngest sometimes gets stuff handed down from a different gender if it's expensive/occassional use stuff (bike, wetsuit, beach shoes, waterproofs, snowboots etc) I deliberately buy plain or "unisex" if it's going to be something that's barely used by 1 child.

Makes sense

How the fuckety fuck do you not notice something so obvious. I presume this means they have not taken the new puppy to a vet. Although I'm not sure why that would surprise me as they don't appear to take their children to the dentist or opticians either so it shouldn't come as a shock.

I deliberately buy plain or "unisex" if it's going to be something that's barely used by 1 child.

That's what 99% of people would do because that's sensible and logical. Sadly the Radford family don't seem to have any common sense. I'd honestly hate to see how much stuff they have thrown away in the last 30 years!

RevolvingPivot · 08/01/2022 11:00

Does anyone on here actually throw uniform away and not re use / pass onto someone else if it's in good condition?

Do they have bikes / scooters? They must pass these on.

I can't imagine anyone why would throw away rather than pass on, especially if like the Radfords they had children so close together in age. It just seems like a ridiculous waste of money and shows a lack of care about looking after what they have.
Exhausteddog · 08/01/2022 11:10

Even if they buy new each year, that doesn't mean they're throwing it away though? It might be passed on to others (just not within their own household)

That makes no sense though. If the uniform was in good condition to be resused by others, why would you pass it on to someone else when you have other children who could wear it?
Papergirl1968 · 08/01/2022 11:21

Although it was a good thing to do, I did wonder why Sue took the clothes to the baby bank when they have grandkids and are likely to have loads

RevolvingPivot · 08/01/2022 11:24

Ah yes she probably donated them. Still strange.

jesuistot · 08/01/2022 11:48

I can’t get over some of the age gaps. 30 YEARS between the eldest and youngest child, full siblings. That must be some sort of record surely?

And some of the grandkids being 8 or 9 when their new aunts and uncles are born.

RevolvingPivot · 08/01/2022 11:50

I know it happens in smaller families but a lot of them might be in the same class as their nieces and nephews.
