Do the production company think we're all stupid? Dick and Angel haven't just suddenly found that wall is a stud wall fgs! Clearly a total set up.

It annoys me that even after 7 years they can’t speak French .
They don’t appear to mix much with the locals either.

no one has all the luck to keep finding all the right bits for restoration in their attic, or at their neighbourhood brocante it is not remotely realistic
it takes ages to even find things like the right size brass screws or door furniture never mind other stuff

I reckon 85% of the slates on roof could have been reused it is virtually criminal to get rid of the old slates just like that ( though in reality I guess they were carefully boxed and sold to antique salvage companies) I like the idea but it is so set up and so obviously not real
we are doing up an old house ( much smaller like 5 bedrooms) and we still feel like the house runs us rather thn us running the house but then I don't have staff and we rarely get time to just sit and drink wine

there is no way that the other half off a stone cider press just happened to fit, the other half was probably just the other side of the wall all the time from when it was moved to allow room for a road for carriages probably

Just catching up on the Christmas episode tonight - did anyone else think the cooking of the meat in the stock fondue would be a recipe for food poisoning? Surely it would take ages to cook even the veg?
