I seem to be to only person that knows Belgian buns. I love a Greggs Belgian bun, and our local artisan bakery makes excellent Belgian buns with lemon curd filling... none of this lot seem to ever have seen one

I'd have described that as a Danish pastry. Probably goes back to the 70s when that kind of thing was an exciting novelty and all sweet yeasted pastries were Danish pastries. Croissants almost unknown. Pain au chocolate, pain au raisin, totally unknown (in our city, anyway). Changed times!
