I've struggled a bit recently to find things that take my interest. I keep trying comedies but think I must have lost my sense of humour or they're all just crap

I haven't watched a lot of the "big" series. Please recommend something that will keep me watching and make me want to watch just another episode, instead of going to bed. Or just something really really good!

I have Prime and Netflix.

The Last Kingdom

Absolutely brilliant, totally gripping.

Best show that's ever been on tv.

Second Mare Od Eastown - Sky or Now

KissedintheDark · 23/10/2021 11:40

Amazon: Person of Interest.
It's a really gripping series.

SapereAude · 23/10/2021 11:46

Money Heist.
The Bridge
Line of Duty
The Americans
Designated Survivor (until it gets all Dynasty-esque)

The Last Kingdom

Best show that's ever been on tv.

Ooh yes I agree.

After watching this we rewatched the whole Vikings series. To realise we had not seen part two of the last series. So I am adding this to the gripping watch list too.

KissedintheDark · 23/10/2021 11:50

Also Amazon: Kept Woman.

You'll want to know the name of that song in the film after. Smile

To save you searching for ages like I did here you go.

Killing Eve in iplayer, which is free. I'm very new to the party & am obsessed.
Also started watching that yesterday. Hooked already!

It’s not too bad. Creepy bits do t last long. With a cushion I’d say doable.

Aquarius1234 · 24/10/2021 01:39

Showtrial bbc1 31st October 9pm. ..
Yeh better be good.

Travelledtheworld · 24/10/2021 01:43

Enjoying "Justified" on Channel 4 app.

Silversun83 · 24/10/2021 11:04

Another very fussy, takes a lot to get me gripped person here. In fact I started my own what do I watch thread two months ago and I've only just found something...

Would definitely say if you haven't already watched Breaking Bad (Netflix) to do so...

Others I've been obsessed with:

The Handmaid's Tale (but seen you've already watched it).

Line of Duty (BBC iplayer)

Hannibal (Amazon) - I prefer to the films.. It is a bit lot gory, but it is very clever, the characters are so well written and Hugh Dancy is amazing in it.

The Vampire Diaries (Netflix) - A bit teenagery to begin, but I think it is very well-written. Very believable and attractive characters (saying a lot for vampires! Grin). If you liked Buffy, you'll enjoy this.

Firefly (Disney+) - Another Joss Whedon series. A bit of an odd premise, futuristic cowboys type environment, but as with Buffy, the setting almost becomes irrelevant. Great characters and script. Only one series sadly, but sort of concludes with a film, 'Serenity'.

And what I just started last night, but has immediately sucked me in: The Americans (but Disney+) which is about two Russian spies living undercover as an American couple in America during the Cold War.

StCharlotte · 24/10/2021 11:09

The Queens Gambit was brilliant on Netflix.

I'm currently binge watching Pose.

If you like ballet there's a series on Amazon called Flesh & Bone. It's very dark but there's a lot of ballet in it. Definitely not one for the children though.

rosequartz8 · 24/10/2021 17:44

If you haven't watched it already, I loved 'The sinner' on Netflix, it has 3 different seasons and Bill Pullman is great in it

waltzingparrot · 25/10/2021 02:11

Informer on Netflix. Limited series.

ImFree2doasiwant · 25/10/2021 20:56

Phew , just had a good look through these. I watched Clickbait this week, enjoyed it apart from the ending. I think I'll try Guilt next, based purely on the number of episodes. Grin

Guilt was brilliant, loved series 1.
Not sure about series 2 yet, just started it...
