I’ve just finished the Season and I’m really not sure what I think! I knew he wanted to get away from Love but to abandon the baby and murder her plus how many times can be feasibly keep killing people? Plus I’m not sure the librarian lady was even nice enough for us to understand why she became his fixation. Anyone else have any views?

This series was ridiculously ott and cartoonish. Out of the two I'm glad that Love is dead as she would kill someone every two minutes. She was great at it though, one hit and boom they're dead.

They were both so annoying though I hope that's it now as I will feel compelled to watch another series if they make one.

As an aside I think they are both really attractive. Love always looked great and I think Joe's creepiness would pass as charisma because he's attractive - it's a fine line!

category12 · 22/10/2021 06:48

Nah, she didn't kill the reader bloke outright, or her boyfriend, or Sherry - I think she only managed Natalie in one go.

ParadiseLaundry · 22/10/2021 07:39

I couldn't believe Love was so happy to let Dottie look after Henry so much when she'd explained several times this series and last what a terrible mother she was!

And how come Love and Joe were so restrained with their murderous instincts after after she had endangered their son?! She's the one I would have been the most forgiving for if they'd killed her!

One part I didn’t get -

At the dinner table when Joe was poisoned, Henry cried and Love went upstairs to check on him. Then when Love went to deliver the cupcakes she came back into the house with Henry in a car seat. Had she set up a recording of him crying so she could leave the room so that Joe would touch the knife? And where was he? With Dante I suppose, but just found that bit slightly odd.

I had assumed Henry was upstairs and Love took him with her to deliver the cupcakes. She couldn't have left him upstairs alone and awake with Joe supposedly incapacitated on the dining room floor.

Therefore she brought him back into the house in his car seat?

I loved this series. I thought it was much more of a black comedy than the other two and I found it quite funny that Love kept killing (or trying to kill) anyone who in anyway annoyed her. Totally ridiculous ending but really the whole show has been ridiculous too. Wish they hadn't killed off Love though, I really liked her character (although wouldn't want her as a friend ;)

soberisthenewpissed · 22/10/2021 19:39

I loved it, hated that they killed Love at the end as she was my favourite, looking forward to a new series, but where do they go from here?

category12 · 22/10/2021 19:40

Dunno, set it in a few years when Henry is a murdering psycho Joe needs to protect?

I'd actually enjoy that! Grin

We are just going to be watching his chase for Marienne, aren't we. I mean I'm sure he will obsess about some other poor woman or two along the way.

The first season was by far the best IMO. Simple. Boy meets girl. Boy stalks girl. Boy kills everyone in her life and then her. Heartwarming!

bonfireheart · 22/10/2021 20:29

Him and librarian had zero chemistry.
I wanted Love to run away with Theo, so inappropriate lol but Jesus I'd run away from Joe too!!

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 23/10/2021 09:53

Joe was so gross collecting used tampons and knickers 🤮

MareofBeasttown · 23/10/2021 10:24

The thing that most annoyed me was idiot Love shouting " I killed Natalie" while Sherry and Cary are upstairs, and Joe having to clean up her mess. It is really beyond belief that she be that stupid. Beck was stupid, but even she wasn't that stupid.

Xyzzzzz · 23/10/2021 10:42

I’m glad he left Henry. He was a terrible parent. He knew it. Shame Henry was the only innocent in all of this shambles of a season.

BeyondShrinks · 23/10/2021 11:08

Joe had a 'Sam' passport in s2, I'm guessing that is how he travelled to Paris. Or he asked real Sam to make him another new one?

Theyve already announced they’ve commissioned a season 4

I agree season 1 was by far the best. It's the same with the books though, the first book was amazing, the second was pretty meh.

They are out of original source material altogether now so it is feeling different and more episode driven (need to have x points of interest per episode) than the first series which followed the book plot quite closely.

ChequerBoard · 23/10/2021 14:34

Rewatching S2 and it's just occurred to me that Joe always says that the Perspex cages are soundproof but they can't be. He is always talking to his victims through the Perspex walls and the top of the cages have holes all around them presumably for ventilation.

I think the cage in Mooney's bookshop probably was soundproof as it was are conditioned to keep the rare books at the right temp but the cages in the lockup in S2 and the bakery in S3 are not.

(Over thinking this massively I know)

bonfireheart · 23/10/2021 16:53

When he went to see his mum he met his step brother, wonder how his brother turned out and whether he will be in season 4.

The most disturbing scene for me was Love in the bath with her brotherm

ABCeasyasdohrayme · 23/10/2021 17:01

I was hoping Love would get killed off after all the "I wolf you" business 😂

This season was a real let down. Especially the bit about the mens trip to the woods. The swinging bit was odd as fuck too.

I hope next season is better. It should be now he's on his own again without his Mrs and kid.

MareofBeasttown · 23/10/2021 17:25

The swinging bit was so cringy I had to fast forward.

I hope Season 4 is about Ellie returning to seek revenge.

Whatever happened to Karen Minty?")

I may be too invested in this show!

JesusIsAnyNameFree · 23/10/2021 17:28

And will Paco grow up and realise he can't keep quiet about Joe killing Beck? That kid must be 15-16 by now? About 3 years since Beck was killed?

WinoAnon · 23/10/2021 20:01

This

I can believe Joe reduced himself to this! 😂

Tittyfilarious81 · 23/10/2021 20:10

I actually didn't like love so I didn't mind they killed her off but I really hope we don't see sherry again in the next season she was unbearable

User478 · 23/10/2021 21:30

It was silly enough that it almost filled the gap left by "Santa Clarita Diet".
