kazza Grin
I always think Mac is shorter than he is- (He's 5ft 11, I think? )- it might be because he played with Peter Fleming so often. At least they stood him next to Diego- and didn't put Diego next to Reilly Grin.

Fizzy - all that money, and can't get a decent tailor Grin.

I know Raahh they look like a bunch of teenagers going to a wedding or a prom in borrowed suits Hmm

Felix and Matteo are the only ones coming out of it looking ok (although they could probably wear anything and look ok Grin)

Raahh · 23/09/2021 18:39

Yes, some of them could wear anything and look good.

Others...not so much. Grin.

Pleased to see Andy Murray is in the quarter finals of the Moselle Open. He plays Hubert Hurkacz next, tomorrow I think. Go Andy!

Fizzywinegum · 23/09/2021 20:36

That’s good news for Andy Chessie - he deserves a break - hope he does well

kazzaD66 · 24/09/2021 11:30

There's been some funny exchanges on Instagram in the last couple of days between Andy and Liam Broady.

Congratulations to David Goffin, who has got married! That should cheer him up after announcing his season is over due to injury. He has very odd eyebrows Grin

Raahh · 24/09/2021 18:55

I do not like the colour of the court in Boston. It's like watching a black and white film, that has had actors coloured in afterwards- everything is really grey- with the players really bright.

OP posts:
Raahh · 24/09/2021 19:00

Congratulations to Goffin.

Not so good news for Andy- but I expected it to be a tougher match against Hurkacz than he has had so far. He lost to him in Cincy earlier on.

My mate Casper doing well for Team Europe- about to win the first set.

Oh- there's Bjorn. I missed the beginning.

Good win for Ruud.

Is it on Prime Raahh ?

ScienceSensibility · 25/09/2021 02:12

Great to see Federer turn up to the Laver Cup. The crowd went absolutely mental when the cameras picked him out in the crowd.

Still using crutches but he seems content with his rehab progress.
Looking forward to next year and attending LC when it is in London - will make up for missing the World Tour Finals.

Eurosport is showing the Day Session matches.

ScienceSensibility · 25/09/2021 02:13

PS Reilly Opelka’s hair is insane, it should have its own postcode.

Raahh · 25/09/2021 07:59

Sorry kazza - watched tha match, ( on Eurosport) Prime are showing it on the new thing you have to pay extra for or something.
I then fell asleep before the end of the Berrettini match. Which is a shame because it looks like it got very close at then end. I have recored it so might watch a bit later.

Even the towels at the Laver Cup are grey.
And bloody Kyrgios has his in his mouth already, ffs.

Stefanos is changing a shoe- but he has taken the lace from the knackered shoe , to put in the new shoe.
Why did the new shoe not have a lace already in it? HmmConfused.

I want to watch Sascha, but I really can't stand watching Isner, any more than Kyrgios.

Think I'll catch up on Strictly. Grin.

OP posts:
Raahh · 26/09/2021 10:40

I watched the end of the Zverev match, Isner made it close at the end.

9-1 over night to Team Europe. It got me thinking about how dominant Europe is, and if it would have been the same 20 years ago.

A quick google (because I am a nerd) showed me a top 20 for around this week in 2001- and it's interesting reading. The obvious ones are there, and prove what I suspected that a 'Team World' in September 2001 would stand a better chance then, than now- Sampras, Agassi, Hewitt, Rafter- Keurten was number was ages.
Franco Squillari of Argentina- remember him?Grin

Europe would have Safin, Kafelinikov Henman(!) Cedric Pioline was still top 20 too.

But it's surface dependant too, I suppose- Guga was really happier on clay- (Rafa didn't really do that well in Laver Cup ties). One or two of the European names in the top 20 were clay court specialists - Corretja, Ferrero.
(Federer had been in the top 20 in previous weeks but not the week of the 24/9).

Fun stuff.

Found you! I don't know where the thread disappeared to.

Prime are showing it on the new thing you have to pay extra for
Feckers. Seems to be on Eurosport later? If I can get my hands on the telly.

I love the photos of Sascha fixing Andrey's collar Grin

Raahh · 26/09/2021 15:48
Grin

Afternoon, Jane.

I went through a phase of pressing 'hide' by mistake. I lost a lot of threads.

OP posts:
Raahh · 26/09/2021 15:49

And yes, it is on Eurosport for the early matches- not sure about the later ones (they might by the Prime ones). I'm never awake then anyway Grin.

Shapovalov is playing doubles with Opelka. He's not exactly short, at 6ft 1, but looks tiny Grin.

OP posts:
kazzaD66 · 26/09/2021 18:03

I saw on Tennis Channel Instagram (I think?) a video of the US team on stage and Diego going up, standing next to Opelka and Isner and joking that he's their brother Grin

Broady won his challenge event!

Raahh · 26/09/2021 18:11

kazza that sounds like a re-make of the film 'Twins' with Arnie Grin.

OP posts:
kazzaD66 · 26/09/2021 18:16

It just doesn't look real when he stands next to either of them Grin
