I find Noel funny. Matt is funny in other things but doesn’t seem to add much to GBBO imo.

I like Matt on Twitter etc - he doesn’t seem to even enjoy his own jokes on GBBO. It should work for him on this but perhaps better on his own. Not sure what Noel adds at all. A double act made sense (m and s) but this only really needs one presenter.

Is anyone out there on Team George? I think Jurgen and Giuseppe are fantastic, but I have a soft spot for George. It really does seem like there's only one open spot in the final (with Jurgen and Giuseppe). Time will tell.

Yes, I love George! and so does my adult DD. Other favs are Jurgen (of course - delightful man; gentle, intelligent and funny) and Guiseppe, likewise.

I love Noel, and Matt hasn't been as bad as I feared. (But then I wasn't as keen on Mel and Sue as some and have never missed them.) I like Pru and her colourful outfits.

It's just such a super show, isn't it. I remember last year when we were all shellshocked by events and been locked down for most of the year and then Bake-Off started and seemed so normal, such a comforting thing in the middle of that strange year. It really did feel like a sudden good and healthy thing in a poisoned world.

@ApplesinmyPocket I totally agree! Some of the panel shows tried to keep going via Zoom, and that felt even more sad, weird, and isolating. I know it's just a TV show, but it really did lift my spirits to see GBBO look the same last year, and I really appreciate that they did it that way.

I think Maggie will go next but if she was asked to provide a birthday cake for a grandchild at a couple hours notice (as I have been) she would come up trumps. Ditto a plate of scones or cupcakes for a surprise visitor. She's an experienced baker and knows all the basics but can't do all the faffy stuff GBBO requires.

Giuseppe is the best, he seems such a lovely chap. I also like George a lot, he's got a certain charm.

In all honesty they're all quite endearing this year.

I love pavlova but can no longer eat anything sweet, this is almost torturous for me to watch 😭

Paul definitely isn't keen on Maggie. I'm getting Norman vibes. He didn't like him either. I think he doesn't like when the more mature contestants insist on sticking to simple, classic bakes.
