Yep it really doesn’t need two presenters - I think it just started that way because Mel & Sue come as a pair. IMO the presenter should be entertaining but also interact with the bakers so that they can talk about their bakes a bit, but we’re not really getting this here. I feel Noel and Matt both tend to go for comedic set-pieces or non-sequiturs and the bakers often look a bit awkward like they don’t know how to react. And that makes me tense up a bit watching it.
I thought Joe was good on Sewing Bee (I know he’s not everyone’s cup of tea), also Alan Carr on that interior design show.
