Hmmm.. interesting cornucopia of people, an entertaining first week with a tad too much crammed in I thought, but most enjoyable.

Jurgen definitely deserved star baker and it was the right person to go.

Only other comment is that the man they were saying resembled "a young Al Pacino etc" actually reminds me of Gary Neville.

Some very good bakers looks like there is lots of competition already.

Lovely bunch though I particularly liked Jurgen, Guiseppe and Crystelle. Feel bad for Tom but he seemed to cope well. I wanted to know more about the family model railway!

Jurgen did have an advantage as an engineer. But you've got to love a lamp and a copy of More's Utopia in cake form...

I like how the bubbling seems to make them all relaxed and well bonded.

I joined a baking forum some time ago as I wanted a particular recipe. Little did I realise that the baking forum was primarily for amateur/semi pro bakers who make wedding/celebration cakes for clients. They all assemble the cakes on arrival at the venue.

One person asked how she would transport a cake she had made for a friend's wedding. She made the cake in lieu of a wedding gift. The other bakers laughed at her question about transporting it and reassured her that it should be assembled at the venue.

Taking a while for the names to stick in my head!

Can’t bear the vocal fry girl and also the awful Liverpool woman with the stupid hair. So many of them are incredibly messy.

The older woman with the beautiful diction ? Is that Maggie? She looks nothing like Prue, although their speech is similar.

It seems more balanced this year in terms of ages. Good. Looking forward to the rest.

Well done Juergen for star baker! Not that I'm biased as he is a friend of my sister's but I think he did well anyway!
