I know I'm very late to the party here, but does Cam drive anyone else up the wall?

I am shocked to my core that people don't like Phil! Shocked!

Phil and Cam are my favourites closely folowed by Gloria. I actually love them all except Lily. She absolutely ruins it for me, I feel bad saying that about a child but every scene with her in it is almost unwatchable.

I liked young Alex.

Have been shocked at the acceptance of Hayley and the weatherman etc.

Lily is hideous.

I'm going to have to stop reading this thread until I've watched them all!

Not as bad as Phil though. I still can't always tell if posters that actually like him (as opposed to find his character cringeworhily funny etc) are being serious...

Phil is the only one I can't stand. The character is so awful - such a inconsiderate man child always needing (false) validation. A lot of the storylines that centered around him (and Clare) I would happily have missed/ That's not to say all storylines he's involved in aren't funny - The Godfather one was cracking!!

Even though Cam is needy it's done differently - he's some self awareness of how he is.

I find Lily amusing, though she is a spoilt brat. I like and loathe Phil in equal measure. He means well but he'd be very annoying to live with.
I like the Mitch/Cam relationship and think it's well written.
I go a bit soppy at Mitch's gorgeous smile.

Lily looks so much like my cousins teenager daughter and talks like her, I find her hilarious.

I love Cam. In real life I probably wouldn't. And in real life none of them would be speaking to each other, considering the things they get up to, but it's just a comedy!

Later seasons are pretty poor, it's like the writers all quit

Yes the Netflix thing is annoying. Though that's (season 9) were it does start to go downhill- even so it's annoying as you feel committed after 8 season and wany to assess the decline yourself!!

My Virgin box recorded 2 episodes overnight (DS must have set this up) which I watched very early this morning.
The families were in Paris. I laughed a lot!

Sky have the later seasons if you have that.

Loved the episode with Cam and Mitchell in the airport after they take the sleeping pills...

And when Gloria has Jay violently bashing the steak.

Haven’t read the thread, but having seen the whole series imo Cam is a manipulative, self-centred, gaslighting bully. Phil, on the other hand, might be an irritating prat but he doesn’t have a mean bone in his body, and would genuinely do anything for anyone. I love Phil.

I can see where you're coming from with the manipulation at times with Cam, but not the gaslighting don't recall any of that!! . (And any manipulation is usually part of the story which is rectified.)

Phil is more than irritating, he's needy and creepy as well as an irritating prat. What's worse his neediness and creepiness mafe out as the comedy element humourous rather than moral storyline.

I always felt like Phil and Claire’s two daughters just looked so much younger than the characters they played, like they shouldn’t have boyfriends as they both looked like little girls and were so tiny and young looking. It looked odd .
However I loved Cam I loved that he was so dramatic, loved him and Gloria together, really thought he was gay though!

Yeah the girls look so young which is why do creepy when Hayley was with the weatherman and the professor.
