@desperatehousewife21 I an digging too deep here 😂 but I am guessing they were supposed to be children when the zombie apocalypse started, and were left behind early on by adults - they have outgrown their clothes and they have copied animals to survive like those wolf children type stories. Apparently it was referencing a Wes craven movie but haven't seen it.

Pieceofpurplesky · 29/09/2021 18:36

The people under the stairs (the awes Craven Movie).
That episode was brilliant. So creepy.

Pieceofpurplesky · 29/09/2021 18:44

Wes

desperatehousewife21 · 30/09/2021 11:46

Cool! They were def something a bit different and made a change to the very unscary walkers, and the even unscarier new baddie bloke Hmm

yumyumpoppycat · 30/09/2021 13:33

Unscary baddie bloke GrinGrin - also funny how they aren't bothering with masks on their raids anymore 🤔

minou123 · 30/09/2021 19:08

Can I join? Grin

I thought this weeks episode was brilliant.

What I loved was when they made everything silent, so we experienced the same as Connie.
I hate scary music, I get the point that it's meant to build tension, but it annoys me.
So I loved the silent part, it made it far more tense, IMO.

desperatehousewife21 · 30/09/2021 21:31

The bit where she was trapped ‘in the wall’ and Virgil was in the room and she was banging on the wall to try and get him to help her out made us laugh though. We get that he was apprehensive about just tearing down the walls in case it was the wildling but we were saying ‘come on Virgil she’s been hammering on that wall for a solid 10 mins’ Grin bloody thought one was going to get to her while she was still in the wall.

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/10/2021 20:12

That was good. I did wonder why they walked on all 4’s. Be quicker running on 2 legs

Poor vigil

And the people under the Stairs was a good horror years ago

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/10/2021 20:22

e6 recap

The finger chopping got me

TeamRick · 04/10/2021 21:56

I enjoyed that episode! Negan on excellent form!

yumyumpoppycat · 05/10/2021 01:10

I didn't like this ep as much as last week.

They have been exploring this for a while in other series but I quite like how Maggies group are firmly 'bad guys' now as they are doing the whisperer thing to this new group, while shaw is letting people go. Obviously the Pope is more dangerous than Maggie as he is killing people for the sake of it, but his followers believe they are following god I guess?

The bit with Gabriel was weird - did the enemy priest see him?

Not sure how convinced I am by the arrogant git at the commonwealth and everyone sucking up to him - he deserved a punch in the nose though!

desperatehousewife21 · 05/10/2021 07:16

This weeks was ok, still better than the first couple of episodes.

Although don’t feel there is much to actually discuss so just goes to show there’s no real content, just feels like a filler episode.

home2012 · 05/10/2021 10:04

I would prefer half the episodes but with actual content. So
Much filler
@Nospringchickendipper I had it on quiet and my 16 yo came in and distracted me so I am not sure exactly what happened to get them in there - think they were escaping walkers. Virgil mentioned them being herded there so not sure if the wild People some how forced them there. Don't know why they then didn't attack them straight away HmmApparently all good horrors are full of plot holes and o reckon this episode probably is too!
@yumyumpoppycat the wild people herded them there! When you saw Connie and Virgil running before they reach the house, they looked terrified (more so then with walkers) and the camera kept panning to a low rustling in the grass so whatever it was was on the ground! Connie wanted to run the other way but they were forced to run towards the house!

Amandasummers · 05/10/2021 13:36

I’ve been binge watching from the very beginning the last few weeks (and am now gutted I have to watch 1 ep per week!!!)

I just keep thinking of all the different things that need clearing up and how I just can’t imagine they are going to fit it all in! I’ve been reached a point where I’m thinking “you know….we’ve never even been told why people started turning into zombies in the first place” and upon googling, we will never find out, and that gives me rage!!

twinmum86 · 05/10/2021 16:25

@Amandasummers I'm really looking forward to going back and watching from the beginning once's it's finished. I remember finding the first series terrifying and I'm intrigued to know whether it actually was scarier, or whether I've just become desensitised to it!

Remember that episode (not sure which series) where they were all sleeping ( in I want to say the prison) and someone died of an illness and turned in to a zombie obviously. I remember it being so scary.

anyway, as for yesterday's - it was okay. I was a bit confused about the walkers in the commonwealth though, I thought it was secure there. Or had the governors son gone out of their compound for his date?

yumyumpoppycat · 05/10/2021 17:15

@twinmum86 i think this is extra land on the outside edge of the compound (or whatever it is) that they want cleared so they can have additional buildings. No idea why the governors son would go on a date there and be abandoned by his guards if there was a chance of walkers🤷🏻‍♀️ it didn't make a huge amount of sense 😂

@Amandasummers thanks I totally missed that! I agree I am miffed they haven't explained the origins after a decade!! I wonder if Rick or michone feature at all this series?

I am torn on filler thing as don't want it to end - this weeks episode was nothing new though really and could have fitted in elsewhere.

GenderApostatemk2 · 05/10/2021 18:17

You have to watch Fear the walking Dead to find out how it started, I seem to remember the first series was built around the original outbreak.

I remember early on in TWD they ended up at the CDC and found out that all humans were infected, which indicated it was man made.
The mid season finale, ep.8, is exciting and frustrating in equal measure 😉
Does anyone else watch The World Beyond?
Jadis is in this new season so maybe Rick will be mentioned/signposted 🤞

desperatehousewife21 · 06/10/2021 07:20

The governors son was an annoying twerp, I think I’d have punched him on the nose too Grin

twinmum86 · 06/10/2021 09:54

Wait. @GenderApostatemk2 fear of the walking dead is linked? I thought they were two completely separate programs!

Eugh mid season finale - do we have to wait long for the second half does anyone know?

@desperatehousewife21 me too, he definitely deserved that!

GenderApostatemk2 · 06/10/2021 12:10

February for the 2nd half 😡
FTWD is sort of linked - Morgan ends up in it.
Everyone is expecting a massive Rick reveal in this new season of The World Beyond, the CRM ( not to be confused with the Commonwealth) are the ones with helicopters who took Rick and Jadis away and where we last saw Michonne.

twinmum86 · 06/10/2021 14:30

February! AngryAngryAngry

I started the first episode of FTWD years ago but decided 1 zombie series at a time was probably better. Can't believe I've been missing out all this time!

They HAVE to show us what happened to Rick surely? They can't end it without that!

GenderApostatemk2 · 06/10/2021 15:12

Well Rick has two films that will presumably tell his story and hopefully reunite him with Michonne. I think a Rick film AND a Michonne film would better.
I’m glad I stuck with Fear, the last two seasons have been very good.

I’m not a massive fan of World beyond but it’s watchable.

The timelines are all over the place though, Fear is years behind, World beyond is slightly ahead.

twinmum86 · 06/10/2021 18:32

Wait. What is 'the world beyond'? Where do I watch this!

I feel like I've been in a bubble missing all these other programs!

Mackers17 · 07/10/2021 14:30

Hello everyone! Can I join please! I've just caught up on the 7 episodes already out and sooooo ready for next week! I've been watching an episode then reading your comments, then watching the next episode the reading your comments and so on... 🤣

Just a couple of my thoughts/comments so far.
I've been really enjoying this season. I agree with the previous poster who thinks Maggie and Negan are on the road to a rage fuck. There was the moment when they were sort of shoving each other in the house and I thought there was a tiny bit of sexual tension then. I think Negan is an excellent character. The haunted house episode was terrifying! Those creepy humans were much scarier than the walkers are these days, and the way there was no sound when connie was alone was absolutely excellent! I do not like the group Daryl has joined at all - they are too much of what we've already had, and I don't like Shaw very much either tbf. Loving the commonwealth just because they seem to be something a bit different though there's something I don't like about why they are asking for alexandrias location. Maybe I'm wrong there though - could that be the endgame, bringing the people at alexandria into the commonwealth? My heart broke for Judith when the handprint thing was broken. Having children roughly the same age as Carl and Judith, the moment they made those prints made me cry so I was both angry and devastated for her that someone had wrecked them! And on that note, I feel like there have been waaaaaay too many references to michonne this season for her NOT to make a comeback before the end of the season. We're being reminded of her constantly. I'd love it if she came back with Rick just to tie things up, because they could still do the films to fill in the gaps afterwards, but I would at least like to see her come back by the end, maybe with a hint of answers for Judith and RJ, even if we the viewers don't get to hear them yet.
