@theliverpoolone

That was sad, the lovely lady who'd fallen down the stairs died Sad
Yes and it was so sad about her daughter 😞
purpleme12 · 27/10/2021 23:47

So Rashan was poorly in the end
Perhaps she couldn't fight it off because of her age 😞

I felt really bad for Vicky

Hellocatshome · 28/10/2021 22:00

Just absolutely sobbed my heart out at tonight's episode.

That was awful, literally just watched the poor lady dying on television 🥲

mrsdolittle · 28/10/2021 22:15

Am in bits here. RIP Vera ❤️

What a "good" death though. No pain, warm and cosy in a bed, and with someone holding your hand and talking to you Thanks just close your eyes and gone

Sad that she died without her children by her side though. If it hadn't been for Covid her daughter would have been with her.

Toddlerteaplease · 28/10/2021 22:33

Though I don't think they expected her to die so suddenly.

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 28/10/2021 22:34

@NotMyCat I have to agree. As death's go. I think that's what I would want

gingercatsparky · 28/10/2021 23:07

I like this show but it frustrates me how many no urgent calls they go to. How many people on there don't need an ambulance but need some other help and could get themselves to hospital. They then escort them into the hospital and spent loads of time handing them over. No wonder waiting times are so huge, I just feel the process is so inefficient. I feel if they arrive at someone's house who clearly could her themselves to hospital or doesn't need an ambulance they should make sure they are ok/check them over and ask them to make their own way there, freeing themselves up quicker for real emergencies.

ILoveYou3000 · 28/10/2021 23:18

That was heartbreaking 💔 The speed with which she went. She seemed like a lovely lady. RIP Vera ❤️

Agree 100%
Toddlerteaplease · 29/10/2021 12:28

@gingercatsparky yes. I agree. So many of them have family with them who could take them.

Toddlerteaplease · 29/10/2021 12:29

Although then there are always the cases that catch them
Out like Vera yesterday. That was clearly unexpected.

m030978 · 29/10/2021 13:02

I don't normally post on these threads, but I just watched last night's and I'm fighting the tears.
My grandma is 94 (still going, still living independently and stuff) and I think she'll go like Vera. Upright and strong til the last minutes. I just hope she's not alone cos of covid though Sad

smallandimperfectlyformed · 29/10/2021 13:11

I watched it and it was so sad. Vera did seem to have a nice death. It was sad for me seeing that Kathleen had basically become reduced to talking to her dead brother because she was so lonely was heartbreaking. The young man with mental health problems was so sad, it wasn't clear if he was really receiving vile text messages or it was paranoia. Glad Neil recovered though, I didn't expect him to! And loved the support worker and the ex offender. Love this show basically!

LIZS · 29/10/2021 13:24

Aww bless Vera , what a lovely lady. Sad

Toddlerteaplease · 29/10/2021 15:10

@smallandimperfectlyformed I think Kathleen was having hallucinations due to dementia rather than because she was lonely. Although she probably is lonely as well.

smallandimperfectlyformed · 29/10/2021 15:29

I'm pretty sure they said that her nephew said that due to being more isolated than normal because of the last 12 months (at the time of filming) Kathleen had declined a lot more than expected, but I think that is something that you wouldn't be able to prove as she may well still have declined because of her age. It's so sad though her being on her own all the time.

Are you talking about the bbc one paramedic show live it

Yes it's on Thursdays at 9pm on BBC1 I think.
purpleme12 · 06/11/2021 23:02

It was really sad hearing the man say he should have died when his wife died

That woman who was served an ASBO clearly had a lot of problems. I hope she's getting more support than an ASBO as it seems like she needs it

That cut to the woman's leg looked so bad!

Felt really bad for the woman at the end she was scared. And her dog was so lovely

MeredithMae · 08/11/2021 13:44

VERA

XenoBitch · 11/11/2021 02:35

When I read the synopsis about the lady repeatedly calling 999 (the one where she ended up being served with an ASBO)... I was honestly expecting them to be someone in their early 20s.... this lady seemed to be elderly. Clearly so lonely and struggling. I hope she got some sort of help in the end.
