This show annoys me so much. I know it's old but it's on when I take my lunch and I just find the architect so infuriating. He seems to want to change things part way through builds, argues with builders and the owners. Denies mistakes he's made etc

I feel like he gets by just winging things!

Didn't know you could binge them either but I just watch the one on terrestrial during the day.
I don't think I could handle any more in a day haha

@BarcelonaFreddie

I'm obsessed with this programme. I've watched around thirty episodes this week alone. It's my new very best favourite thing. I love how the client can never ever get hold of Dermot and how he charms / bulldozes them into having what he wants. I also love the relationships with builders he's worked with a few times before - Ian, Padraig and Peter etc. It's so entertaining.
Same here. I love it too. He’s a right charmer. I would love him to come and design my house, if l had the money.

I've now watched them all! Every single one.
Feel bereft.
What on earth will I do with myself for the remainder of the summer?

Horehound · 09/08/2021 11:53

Omg I can't believe you watched them all!
How many are there?!

The next one to watch is what comes on directly after it on terrestrial TV and it's and old show of George Clarke's. People switching up their lives and making huge projects that usually fail after a few years.
The one I watched which was soooo bad was a couple from Aberdeen that left their jobs and bought a French chateau
The guy was doing allllll the work whilst she worked still in Aberdeen and she'd used a software package to develop the timeline and it was fucking massive. The very first activity he did was knock down one doorway and it took him like 5 times as long to do than that the schedule said.
Then they decided to get married and she quit her job. It was a disaster!
Anyway I googled the chateau and they had sold it a few years later probably never even made it to b and b status.

Right! I'm on it!
Thank you.
Unsure of exact number but 12 series with 6-8 episodes in each.
A lot.
I could quite possibly do some designs for people now... glass box extension ✅ wrap around courtyard ✅ plywood kitchen ✅ light well ✅ double height ceiling tick ✅

Ensure nearly double the initially proposed budget ✅

Horehound · 09/08/2021 12:48

Haha christ I can't believe you watched 12 series so fast Grin well done!

Spot on targets!

Love the 'very posh' builder on the one in Donnybrook which had been student flats.

It is a beautiful house !
