Motherland inconsistencies

I am watching the first two seasons again, having just finished the third one and I’ve noticed a couple of inconsistencies. I am happy to be corrected though.

1- in the first series Kevin says that his mother lives near Andover (I think it’s Andover, but the actual location doesn’t matter). In the third series he says that she died when he was 8.

2- in the first series Anne says she’d had an early menopause, so how did she get pregnant again in the second series (which I assume is Baby Niamh who she has had by the third series). Was there some kind of mistake/realisation that I missed?

There's inconsistencies throughout. As well as all the above, the kitchens of both Amanda and Meg change in the series.

The cafe they meet in changes throughout- may be deliberate. Who knows.

But I still absolutely adore it.

Currently watching Amandaland and wondering if we'll see Anne's younger children at any point...

Motherland is my safe show I watch it over and over hence why I'm posting in 2026 lol- but why does Marion ask on the christmas special (netflix has it as series 3 ep 1) that she can only find the crispy towels Julia uses for the dogs - what dogs lol. Never have I seen any of them with a dog lol

I love Motherland too. But can't recall the crispy towels scene sorry! I love Amandaland too, especially the mother character played by Joanna Lumley
