Actor ‘drinking’ from a take out ‘cup of coffee’ which is SO obviously empty!! Even just carrying them, it’s clear that are full of fresh air!! No one in ‘real life’ can grab a coffee and take a gulp (as if it’s a shot) If so I’d be getting my money back for a near empty coffee 😆 It drives me around the bend and can totally distract me whilst watching great telly!! Top tip to actors/ directors....just fill it with water it will make a huge difference- well to me anyway 😂 Anyone else feel the same or have any other annoying distractions whilst watching TV/Films?

The (not) drinking from empty cups really hugs me too.

I commented last night while watching a tv drama where the characters are lying in bed that no one on tv appears to close their curtains!

Puffinhead · 18/05/2021 15:42

Bugs not hugs!!

Speaking of births, Kylie in Corrie gave birth on the couch in the Platts front room. Most pristine birth ever. Ambulance took her away and the couch was clean as a pin, and ready for use even though no cover, towel or sheets were placed on it during the birth. Grin

And for some reason they take the entire cast to the hospital with them. Ex-husband's friendship group, college roommates, their best friend's new boyfriend... rarely their actual family though!

Similarly for weddings and funerals, in soaps, there will be a random collection of people in attendance. It's never explained either, why a family member is missing.

Pigeonpair1 · 18/05/2021 22:44

The recorded “crying baby upstairs”. Used in every soap 😂 . There’s one particularly annoying one!

People driving who can seem to drive safely with no accidents while head turned staring /talking to a passenger......
How???

Triphazard101 · 18/05/2021 23:15

I always find it amusing when they play the baby crying noise.... while trying to placate/rock the baby who doesnt look in the least bit upset. I mean obviously I dont expect a small baby to have acting skills, or that they should deliberately make it upset....but I find it funny when the baby expression and noise doesnt match!

Mumsieof5 · 18/05/2021 23:16

What about conversations whilst driving a car. The driver looks at the passenger, the whole time, while talking, not once do they look out the windscreen in front.

Mumsieof5 · 18/05/2021 23:18

@Sonofabiscuit great minds!Wink

Flissitytricity · 20/05/2021 10:47

Actors lounging with feet up and their shoes or trainers soles are pristine clean and obviously never been worn outdoors.

May I just also mention a current advertisement which seems to be on every 5 minutes. The two dads on the Verisure ad where they are at their front doors discussing home security. I can not stand them! Angry

EyesOfABlueDog · 20/05/2021 12:22

In lawyer programmes like Suits, the way they read any document handed to them in 2 seconds & make a decision - especially Harvey! It amuses me greatly!
Also, in shows or films when they get out of bed with the whole sheet or duvet wrapped around them - who does that IRL?

CharityDingle · 20/05/2021 15:54

That really irritates me! I know it's acting but don't do that! Grin

When the police spot someone across the road and up the street they yell “stop police” and then are surprised that they can’t close a 30m gap before the person disappears. Everytime I yell at the tv that they could be right behind them before they knew about it. Has anyone every been wanted by police and stoped when they yell stop!

Also no one is ever knackered after 4 flights with a baby and a buggy. Or carrying luggage or a body for ages. You might be able to do it but you’d be sweating out your ears.

trebleclef101 · 20/05/2021 16:19

The one that annoys me is when people wake up in the night and turn a light on . . . and don't spend 5 minutes squinting while their eyes adjust to the light.

ClubTropicanaVIP · 23/05/2021 12:21

@trebleclef101hah hah yes absolutely!! Or one eye still stuck shut for a few seconds 😂

Yes! Was watching an episode of The Bill recently. They spotted their suspect but instead of waiting until they were near him, (they weren't in uniform so could have strolled near him without him noticing) they shouted out his name. And guess what he did... he ran! Grin
And he didn't stop when they shouted 'police!'...
