Actor ‘drinking’ from a take out ‘cup of coffee’ which is SO obviously empty!! Even just carrying them, it’s clear that are full of fresh air!! No one in ‘real life’ can grab a coffee and take a gulp (as if it’s a shot) If so I’d be getting my money back for a near empty coffee 😆 It drives me around the bend and can totally distract me whilst watching great telly!! Top tip to actors/ directors....just fill it with water it will make a huge difference- well to me anyway 😂 Anyone else feel the same or have any other annoying distractions whilst watching TV/Films?

Yes!

In nowadays Corrie the cups they're supposedly drinking from are so obviously empty!

In Classic Corrie, you can actually see that the cups are full of tea or coffee, and it's obvious that the characters are really drinking the contents.

Especially if it's a man - the Adams Apple is a dead giveaway!

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 09/05/2021 16:53

And, on the subject of parking, nobody seems to bother to lock their car.

OR! - even more annoying is when they come back to the car and unlock it, but the drivers side window is fully open.

Do they really think we don't notice these things? Hmm

Iamblossom · 09/05/2021 16:56

Yep the worst case of this I have ever seen is in Notting Hill when Hugh grant goes to see Julia Roberts at her hotel and get bundled in by mistake as a journalist for horse and hound and that other journalist starts chatting to him while the journalist drinks out of an obviously empty coffee cup.

SoMuchForSummerLove · 09/05/2021 16:57

Watched something the other day where the camera was over the actors shoulder and you could see that the cup was completely empty Confused

eatsleepread · 09/05/2021 18:35

Oh, has anyone noticed when they eat toast in the soaps? They scrape the butter on, and it just sits there unmelted. Ok, the toast will no doubt have been sitting around for ages, but it's still gross!

eatsleepread · 09/05/2021 18:37

Big Bang Theory is the worst show for moving food around on the plate. They actually never eat, particularly in the work canteen.

iklboo · 09/05/2021 18:39

'Ok, I'll meet you later'

Where? When?

imaginethemdragons · 09/05/2021 18:45

Reporters.
Why oh why do they start their “piece” by walking slowly towards the camera?????
You watch, they all do it ALL THE TIME..
why? Why?

Belledan1 · 09/05/2021 18:47

They totally get the masks wrong in corrie sometimes. Walk from outside with them on and then take them off.

Standrewsschool · 09/05/2021 20:27

When in bed, they still have a full face of make-up.

Except when penny shoves the last dumpling? In her mouth and says “thank you for this great honour” whilst spitting bits of food all round her Grin
WheresThatCatGoneNow · 10/05/2021 13:25

Yes! Belledan1!

They all walk into The Rovers and whip their mask off.

I thought it was just me who couldn't make any sense of that! 🤔🙄

ClubTropicanaVIP · 10/05/2021 14:59

Bloody hell I’m going to be looking at everything now from cups, plates of food to luggage bags, parking cars, oxygen bags and Covid masks every time I watch tv that I’ll not be watching the programme!!

'Ok, I'll meet you later'

Where? When?

Oh yes!! And "I'll pick you up at 8". From where? No address discussion whatsoever.
MedusasBadHairDay · 10/05/2021 15:09

The one that always annoys me is when you see characters using a dark room to develop prints. They'll watch the image become clear in the tray of developer.. then not fix it. Those prints aren't going to last.

Blubbergalore · 10/05/2021 20:56

What gets me is on any police drama whenever the police turn up to speak to somebody they always continue with whatever they were doing or get the police to follow them around whilst they carry on working/walking whatever. Would that ever really happen?

ClubTropicanaVIP · 10/05/2021 21:27

@Blubbergalore hah yes they do!
‘ I’m just gonna carry on under my car fixing my exhaust whilst the cops are asking me questions!’

Everyone works in the street/square etc no one has to travel to work.
Every character has a job, a new one arrives and l of a sudden he/she is experienced in pub cafe shop or factory work.We even have a character who learnt to be a car mechanic in jail.Join the police and get instant promotion.Become an instant undertaker all. of a sudden.
What a perfect life.

ShirtyGertie · 10/05/2021 22:56

When investigating a crime scene/dead body or hearing a strange noise while in the house on their own........nobody turns a light on! Why does eveything happen in near pitch black darkness? It's the first thing anyone would do - flick a switch!

MerylStropp · 10/05/2021 23:10

When a character leaves and wants someone to go with them, it's either drop everything and go right now, or not at all... "if you're not at the station I'll know you're not coming". When in real life they could easily go on ahead and give the other person the option of joining them later.

Triphazard101 · 10/05/2021 23:14

The empty bags is a bug bear of mine when they are either going on holiday or leaving someone and v clearly carrying an empty bag.
Also if someone has to either hide themselves, or said enormous bag, because they're about to be caught having an affair/about to walk out, there is always a conveniently empty wardrobe or cupboard!

Triphazard101 · 10/05/2021 23:17

also everyone always sits one side of a table (even if it looks really cramped) because the camera is the other side !

scottgirl · 10/05/2021 23:21

All duvets and pillows are brand new and fluffed up! The extras all walk at the same speed in busy street scenes.

Belledan1 · 11/05/2021 07:40

Lol these are funny and true. Also who looks after all the kids when parents are in the pub. Emily Bishop has gone now lol who was a resident babysitter.

Cannothtinkofaname · 11/05/2021 13:57

Something on TV that really annoys me is at the start of the programme, they show you what's coming up, but they show you almost everything!
Paul O'grady Love of Dogs, Yorkshire Vet, completely spoils it for me. We record everything now then skip straight into the show.
