I did say that Jo was using an assumed identity.

High levels of Homozygosity in mammals indicates inbreeding (incest in humans obvs) so I assumed the story is the mum abused Tommy Hunter when he was 14 - becoming pregnant with Jo - and that’s the back story to why he became a child abuser.

The mum surely wasn't any different in age? She looks very young in the photo?

Well we don't know how old Jo's mum was -ie who was the abuser, or did they grow up in an abuse environment themselves (considering link to child serial abuse at the children's homes) that contributed to the incest.
