Ted has been the police so long that they won't necessarily have his DNA on file from him joining. He was arrested and interviewed last series so his DNA may be on the nominal database from then.

I need to start watching from the start again. I have no idea what’s going on.

I am so so glad I rewatched the lot. I too was getting frustrated with how much I couldn’t remember (and Googling is always a bit risky mid series!).

Before I rewatched LOD was just something I enjoyed a lot when on, but on the second go I’ve got so much more out of it, the threads have been so much fun too. Absolutely worth a rewatch.

I also think buckells is just an incompetent twat, but I’m not sure why they killed James in front of him, seems a bit heavy handed to me if he’s nothing to do with it, unless they are going to start using him.

Intimidation in order to silence him so he doesn't drop Jo or Ryan in it? Someone will probably visit him and offer him money to take the rap.

Yes I was wondering this - otherwise what are they going to do with a dead Lakewell? Is Banks going to take the rap for it? Will it somehow be covered up by corrupt prison officers? Bit hard to explain away having a garrotted prisoner!

I just re watched the last episode and just wanted to share a funny bit I missed first time round..
When Steve & Chloe visit Lakewell in prison and Steve says "I was in a wheelchair last time" and Lakewell says "I thought you looked taller...relatively!"
Now that's not very nice!!

Don't think it was Buckells' cell - who knows. One thing's for certain, he'll not be saying he was there and saw who did it.

As said on previous thread I reckon Buckells will be intimidated to take the wrap for the dodgy goings on leaving the OCG to have Jo in the top position in MIT doing their bidding. So basically MIT will be run by the OCG with Ryan rising through the ranks and keeping an eye on Jo.

Signing in. Annoyingly I saw some of the spoiler stuff. Quite hacked off about that. Very pleased for this thread to be working to the letter of the law, the letter.

Me too - it was the Beeb wot did it! Mind you, half the fun with LoD is watching how things play out.

Is anyone really going to believe Buckells capable of murder?

I think the unlucky Lakewell corpse will lead to investigations in the prison - as there are bent guards in both the men's sections and the women's (poor Farhida) to be cleaned up. And it's another line of attack on the OCG

Me too - I think I'll wait until the last weekend and then cram them all in and watch the final episode "live" iyswim.

The death of Lakewell seemed to be met with nothing more than Ryan's zinger of a line.

They can't frame Buckells I imagine because Lakewell should never have been in his cell so hard to explain how he got there without some failure on the part of the prison! I imagine it will become another unresolved tiny part of the plot.

I can't plough through all these threads, so apols if I'm repeating things/asking questions that are asked and answered, but my two-penn'orth:

• GUTTED about Ted being 'retired'. He WILL be vindicated!
• Don't want to believe that Kate has actually been taken in by Jo. Surely Kate is playing her to see if she spills anything/leads her or AC12 to something?
• Did Jo REALLY think letting Ryan go from his cop job would get him and the whole OCG off her back? I can't buy that.
• do the police really bust people out of prison (how??) and invite them in the convoy to go into witness protection?

Because it was supposed to be a prison transfer. Or at least that's what they were staging it as. They know there's a dodge prison guard in there so to the prison Lakewell was going off to another prison but in reality, they were trying to put him in witness protection.
