I'm not comfortable with thus whole surrogacy 'storyline'.

I’ve still to watch it this week.

But I’m not comfortable with it either. I suspect all the people praising it to the heavens wouldn’t be in the queue to have the baby or have their girlfriends have the baby for them either.

I am childless although I do quietly think of myself as a mum. I nearly was. It was never meant to be for me.

Everyone has their own tussle in my position. They search for their own solution. I accepted my fate.

But in this case, I strongly object to it being discussed so casually and the subject being made light of.

Babies are not an accessory. A possession. Or a right.

Yeah, I agree. It’s never sat comfortably with me. Because there’s no mention of the surrogate and the massive risk they are undertaking, and all the other hugely ethical issues surrounding surrogacy. Which could actually be addressed here.
Instead it’s all about Ollie and his husband, and their experience. Frankly, I’m more concerned about the surrogate and the baby.

There are two very, very important people in this situation.

Not Olz. Not his husband.

Their well-being is not paramount to this storyline.

It bloody well should be.

I find the 'light-hearted' way the surrogacy is being discussed, or not, massively grim too.

Babies are not possessions/accessories to buy.

I can understand Olly and Gareth discussing the surrogacy with their friends. But to introduce a random conversation/lecture with the transgender couple who had their own very public documentary about surrogacy?

As for the rest of the show Julius and Miles are an embarrassment.
I notice Freddie has (wisely) withdrawn himself. I never really likes Rez bu he has been thrown to the wolves.

But it is a lesson about how everyone is different and everyone deserves everything.
