Yes I think Jo finished with Farida and set her up as either some threat had been made by OCG re Farida or Farida was getting too close to what Jo is up to. Farida hiding behind the building and spying on Jo, is she stalking her or investigating her?

I came on to say that I thought the audio clip voice was Jimmy Lakewell and also that Jo's mum looks like an old photo of the actress that played Shaun's mum in This is England so I don't think we have seen her before. She looks different to Anne Marie, to me anyway.

I was on tenter hooks everytime Steve and Ryan were in the same room. Good spotting Kate's screen!

nofluffy that explains it. We've were trying to work out whether you'd get that view on the wirral. Or maybe from a giant sand dune on Formby beach.

I tied myself in knots last series trying to work it out (I'm just up the coast and worked in Liverpool).

Also, have Kate and Steve actually met Ryan before or will it be that one of them will be looking at previous OCG evidence and then see Ryan in some photo or CCTV footage and click?

Buckles interviewed Ryan in Series 1 - so he's in cahoots or too dim to notice - could be either.

I think the stereotypical assumption that a woman living alone with two daughters wouldn’t shell out for the sports channels doesn’t apply if the woman in question is Liverpudlian. The fact that she immediately starts to give Steve grief about the performance of whatever London team he supports corroborates this.

I’m immensely frustrated by the fact that they didn’t immediately get back to Jo and ask her to confirm whether she’d been living with Farida. I want to know whether she’s going to go full Gaslight and say it was all in Farida’s mind. Implausible that she’d be able to get away with it I know, but chilling to contemplate.

A predictable plot twist would be Jo and Farida get back to together at the end.
But good acting if so.

Steve hasn’t seen him yet and Ryan hid from him, so he knows that’s a risk. Kate and Buckells are obviously considered less likely to recognise him and of course he was open in recruitment about some involvement in crime when young so he wasn’t pretending then to be entirely innocent.

Steve and Sam went to bed together last series but it all went a bit wrong. Wasn’t clear whether it was back pain or painkillers (to me - may have been obvious to others).

So is Chloe, Tony Gates’ daughter Chloe? She would be about the right age and seemed very interested in the H investigation photos.

As much as I want Steve and Kate to remember Ryan, thinking about it, it's quite plausible they won't.

As far as I remember, the last time they saw Ryan, he was 12/13 years old. It's been 10 years since they've seen him.
Would you really recognise an adult, when you saw them last as a child?

Possibly yes if they’d tortured me. Kate though clearly just has a vague sense of having seen him before.

I think Steve visited Steph because he saw she had visited Ted at work and they were having a hush-hush conversation. Steve doesn't know that Ted bunged her the £50k but I think his questioning of Steph about the TV and the sports package was more about him thinking that Steph has got a new bloke and he thinks it might be Ted.

I can't remember exactly, but didn't Steve say his painkillers were in the side pocket in his car, so why did Steph open the glove box? No doubt his addiction to painkillers is going to be used against him at some point. At the moment it seems that Steph and Steve have a good relationship in as much as she is grateful for what Steve did for Corbett at the time. I wonder if something will cause their relationship to sour and Steph will use this info against him.

Why didn’t Corbett get the line of duty pay out. He was undercover. Set up and killed. Should have had a lay out

...just a thought, could Steve have faked the back spasm to get Steph to go to the car, so he could do something in the house?

After all, we know he only took his (OTC) painkillers as he set off on the drive to Steph's...
