Hope you don't mind but Chess arrived Friday and is a complete poppet. Here he is absolutely pooped from his journey and from sniffing every molecule in the downstairs of my house - he doesn't do stairs yet

Re the episode with pork belly: giving that to some to cook in 1 hour is ridiculous (or was it even less time). I'd have made chicharrones, which is where you boil the meat for a bit and then keep cooking it in its own fat once the water has boiled dry. It gets all crispy and delicious. Of course, all these cooks are obsessed with Asian flavours this year so no one knows about other cooking styles.

I did wonder with the pork belly - they were given 'their favourite ingredients' but I wonder if they knew what it was for? If you knew it was for a 50 minute challenge you would be pretty foolish to pick it.
