I have to agree that I rolled my eyes at the trainer’s memory
Maybe the fact that none of them had ANYONE at their passing out, and were such a cohesive group, and then almost lal of them left the force.
Speaking as a retired lecturer, I have to admit that there are particular students that I DO still remember 30 years later.
The absolutely outstanding ones
The complete and utter *rsehole ones
The ones who spent most of their time in my office weeping about their inability to do the course, while simultaneously getting decent, often brilliant, marks.
And the one whose mother rang me up and played HELL with me down the phone because she found out that her DS (aged 19) hadn't been turning his work in, but had been going out partying instead. Apparently I should have made him work, (Believe me - we all tried. We can't pull a gun on someone.) we should have stopped him going to parties and made sure he was in bed (his own, alone) at night
, and we should have told her because she was paying his fees (We aren't allowed to Mrs W*nker-Student WE AREN'T ALLOWED.)
I can't remember many of their names, but their faces are as clear as day. If I was shown a picture, I'd be able to give a potted student biography.
