I saw a trailer for this the other evening but DC were running around and being loud so I missed most of it. Does anyone know when it’s starting please? I don’t want to miss it as it’s brilliant!

@Wingedharpy

A quick Google says that as long as door seals on a freezer are intact, they are smell proof even if the power is off . Putting body parts in plastic bags would contain any fluids. Just passing this on in case any MNters have need to store any dismembered bodies.
Thank you - you never know when you'll need this sort of stuff. Grin

Re the stench - I would think would knock you out when you open the door . . . .

Labobo · 11/03/2021 07:49

But would it still smell thirty years later?

RedRiverShore · 11/03/2021 08:13

If it was unplugged wouldn't it be just a skeleton left

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/03/2021 08:30

@SchadenfreudePersonified sorry forgot the stink 😂

Obv no smell it detective wouid have smelt as soon as opened it

I wondering if foggerty unplugged it then died

SingToTheSky · 11/03/2021 09:07

I really want to know why fogerty got lumbered with the body when presumably they were all involved. I don’t think it can be because he was the one that dealt the fatal blow as it were

Labobo · 11/03/2021 09:09

@SingToTheSky - practicality? He had the car so he could drive the body into his garage and stick it in a freezer. Though why they'd choose to keep it not dispose of it is a mystery as they must from training have known all sorts of ways people had effectively disposed of bodies in the past.

@Lepetitpiggy

I don't like that Oxford copper. Cambridge!! I'm thoroughly insulted Grin
Didn’t she say she studied at Balliol? That’s an Oxford college.
jay55 · 11/03/2021 09:13

Yes would have thought they could have dumped it in the sea or a lake later on.
Although keeping the body is probably better for blackmail purposes. Could drop a hand on the high street if someone doesn't pay up.

bendmeoverbackwards · 11/03/2021 09:14

I really like the theme music. It’s similar to the theme to The Missing, wonder if it’s the same composer?

drspouse · 11/03/2021 09:28

Sounds like she studied at Oxford but now works in Cambridge so you are both right parental gavel has landed on child argument.

Me too. It’s haunting

It's by a band called Oh Wonder

Would it decompose inside a fridge? Don't know.
SchadenfreudePersonified · 11/03/2021 11:07

@Labobo

I would think so. It's been (presumably) frozen for 30 years - once the freezer is unplugged it will gradually defrost, and then it will quickly become very warm as bacterial activity in the contents goes into overdrive. There will also be a massive amount of pressure exerted - I know freezers have a hermetic seal (is that the right word?), but it's possible that left long enough the door would actually have burst open by the force - though maybe not seeing as there was just a head and hands. And entire torso possibly could have done it.

(I've developed an unhealthy interest in this now . . . . Hmm)

I thought it sounded like the music from that Scandi thriller "The Bridge".

(Though I may be getting mixed up - my memory is dreadful!)

There would be ^ooze* RedRiver . . .

Drippy, stinky, sticky oooooze.

Depends how long it had been defrosting, obviously, but the flesh wold eventually liquify. The skull and handbones would be lying in a very unpleasant puddle of ooze.

RedRiverShore · 11/03/2021 12:54

Ah, yes, the ooze would still be there as maggots usually see some of that off but it would be too contained for flies to get in

CherryValanc · 11/03/2021 13:01

We don't know how long it's been defrosting for do we?

OilBeefHooked · 11/03/2021 13:01

But there was a 4 way plug there- why did he unplug it?

Also - they were all very, very drunk so how did they come up with a Cunning Plan that meant they got away with murder for 30 years?

SingToTheSky · 11/03/2021 13:02

@SixesAndEights

The director put in that photo of Susan Lynch because he'd last worked with her on Cracker.
That’s so sweet. I love little references like that! I cracked up the other week at one in Community (Chevy Chase) and another in The Trouble With Maggie Cole (Mark Heap).

I’m really intrigued about this Cracker character though! I never watched it myself.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 11/03/2021 13:03

That there was a random extension cable nearby would suggest that the small freezer unit must have been plugged in for much of its time in the self-storage rental space? Strange that it had been recently unplugged?

So are we thinking that Fogarty was blackmailing all of them? Do we know what job he was doing before he died? Maybe he was living off blackmail monies? Have they scrutinised his bank accounts yet?

Well observed to whoever noticed that Liz had no flash memories (unlike the others).

SingToTheSky · 11/03/2021 13:06

Yes I’m so confused as to them not disposing of it. It just seems weird that they’d not have a bigger plan. I could understand them all going their separate ways if the body had been destroyed somehow and they never wanted to think of it again. But imagine knowing someone had the evidence in their freezer 😬😂

It certainly seemed the two women hadn’t kept in touch anyway. And Liz was right, how bloody stupid to contact her 😆😳

Ram did phone someone and say “I need to speak to you” though near the end didn’t he.

Aaargh why is it so long till the next one.

SingToTheSky · 11/03/2021 13:07

Blackmail is a good shout. Maybe they were all actually in touch with him separately without having contact with the others.

CattyCactus · 11/03/2021 13:23

I used to have a storage unit and it didn’t have electricity sockets in it.
That’s not to say none in the whole of the U.K. have them, of course.
As for smell, Jake certainly didn’t recoil as if there was an awful stench coming from the fridge. It was only when he opened it that it became obvious there were body party’s in it.....
