Anyone watch this tonight?

Just catching up now, it's the same show as "Your Home Made Perfect" but you guessed it.. a garden makeover this time!

It will be on iplayer to catch up on!

Wow! That swimming pool looks so deep for a back garden pool, why would whoever have originally built such a deep pool? Nightmare if you had little ones either filled or empty with that drop too.

Judging by the preview we’re in for another treat.

jay55 · 25/02/2021 20:07

It's the sort of pool that would have a body floating in it in Miss Marple.

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 25/02/2021 20:14

Will they crane in a zillion tons of earth to fill it?!

covetingthepreciousthings · 25/02/2021 20:18

I'm not keen on this first one.. it looks like it belongs on the costa del sol.. not sure it would fit England's climate.

They could drill in some drainage and then make it into a giant ball pit.

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 25/02/2021 20:24

Lol giant ball pit 😂

I like the idea. Not so keen on the beige/red accents. I thought there might be a smidge more planting.

I missed the first 10 mins - was there a reason they bought a property with a giant pool that they hated and had no use for? The location/views?

I kind of love the pool 😁

This!! Grin

I think they loved the idea of it.. but then the cost of the upkeep of it just lead to it being empty and even empty it causes issues as they have to pump it out of rainfall.

I much prefer this design.

DareIask · 25/02/2021 20:27

Too Jurassic Park for me

megletsecond · 25/02/2021 20:27

I think I prefer the giant Jurassic rock garden option.

Those tree ferns won't be cheap Shock.

jay55 · 25/02/2021 20:27

The pool was too expensive to run, needed new heating system etc, they had no idea.

Option 2 is much more in keeping with the area. My grandma who lived in Plymouth had a lot of that style stone to create her veggie beds.

Still for both options getting all the materials in is going to cost as much or more than the materials.

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 25/02/2021 20:28

Ooh I kind of love this one! Not sure about the railings but they would be necessary.

It looks like it would go over budget. Same designer as last week isn't it? Are elements of the design going to disappear in the final result if they go with this one?

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 25/02/2021 20:30

Thanks coveting and jay! Mnet is slow updating tonight.

covetingthepreciousthings · 25/02/2021 20:32

I'd definitely pick Jurassic crater.

OP posts:
covetingthepreciousthings · 25/02/2021 20:32

I think whichever they pick will likely go over budget though..

OP posts:
TheSpottedZebra · 25/02/2021 20:33

But that's what -a third of the year the tree ferns will be fleeced? That's quite lot in a relatively small garden.

Halsall · 25/02/2021 20:35

Ooh, a florist and a groundsman - they're in the business!

Wasn't the 66k woman last week a florist as well?

I missed the beginning of tonight's. Another 30k budget?! Shock

megletsecond · 25/02/2021 20:36

"Veranda-cum-microwave". I feel sorry for them. Expensive mistake.

GuyFawkesDay · 25/02/2021 20:36

I reckon in Devon and with that shelter they might not need fleecing too long.

It's the perfect environment for tropical planting

Maireas · 25/02/2021 20:36

I think they need the railings because of the children visiting. Neither look particularly child friendly. Mind you, it's a challenge turning a massive crater into something useful and pleasant.

jay55 · 25/02/2021 20:37

I lived in a building with a big glass atrium in the middle, birds would sit on it and it got covered in seagull shit so quickly, it was hilarious.
They put spikes on in the end.

I can imagine their glass thing would be the same.

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 25/02/2021 20:38

Small project - Isn't there a simple product that would cover the glass roof to screen it inexpensively? I don't really like the wooden screening idea, it feels too enclosed and claustrophobic.

megletsecond · 25/02/2021 20:40

Hurray. Jurassic garden.
Won't they have to put extra drainage in though?
