It’s back!!! Now with extra added Alan Carr!!!

Starts tonight. I didn’t find the first series until well after it finished and binge watched it, enjoyed following the thread on here as I did so but I was way behind the time to contribute anything.

Looking forward to enjoying this series hopefully with some viper chatter as we go along. Come on in, all opinions welcome!

Amphitheatre woman has to go, surely?

dillite · 09/02/2021 20:50

Charlotte looked pissed off by being through to the next week.

LemonViolet · 09/02/2021 20:50

Ok so team green/pink are safe, everyone else up for grabs!

The Ampitheatre was ridiculous in its execution.

LemonViolet · 09/02/2021 20:52

I think amphitheatre and ping pong are the two big misses.
But also upholsterer lady got the layout totally wrong and drag-fan chap was all curtains and warning colours.

I think it's between the 2 women on the sofa

TheSpottedZebra · 09/02/2021 20:54

I was thinking of painting my front room that dark olive colour but it's totally ubiquitous already, isn't it?

TheSpottedZebra · 09/02/2021 20:54

It would be dramatic (amphitheatre).
You'd walk in and go Shock

LemonViolet · 09/02/2021 20:55

I think amphitheatre lady is getting cut

TheSpottedZebra · 09/02/2021 20:58

Yep, we were right.
It was the right result though.

Standrewsschool · 09/02/2021 20:59

The amphitheatre idea looked better on paper. It was just too big.

LemonViolet · 09/02/2021 20:59

Aw I feel guilty for being right now! It’s nice that they all seem gutted for each other

Ooh excited for next week looks like there’ll be more inspiration that translates to home use

Graphista · 09/02/2021 21:01

@TheSpottedZebra you don't have to use that colour the same way as other people though there are lots of ways you could differentiate it a colour is a small element really a 100 rooms could use the same colour and all look very different

Maireas · 09/02/2021 21:02

Barbara is vindicated! That dreadful tiered seating. Who on earth would want to scrabble up that? Also.... Swings??
The right person left.

Graphista · 09/02/2021 21:02

I feel like the ping pong thing was also a very dated idea? Very Steve jobs/mark zuckerberg in the 90's?

PuppyMonkey · 09/02/2021 21:08

You just knew Amy was going the minute she confidently announced she was so happy with it. Barbara’s team, what a triumph - I’d quite like to work there. Grin

LemonViolet · 09/02/2021 21:08

I’ve never worked in an office. But I can’t imagine people would actually play ping pong? Do people not have work to do?!?

I love the green. I’d put it with a dusky aubergine to contrast though, I just don’t like pink for myself, although I can see it objectively looks good.

I agree that Charlotte looked pissed off that she was saved. Maybe she wanted to go home. Siobhan was a teeeny bit snide about Barbara's 3D model, but it worked out very well for her.
Agree with every one about the painted upholstery. Imagine sitting on it and ruining your clothes.

LemonViolet · 09/02/2021 21:10

I got the idea that Barbara had been saying “on my 3D model” so much that her teammates were taking the piss!

I work in an office (or did pre covid) and no, ping pong certainly wasn't a workday pastime.

10 mins queueing for the kitchen, 20mins cramming the food down and making a brew to take back to our desks.

PuppyMonkey · 09/02/2021 21:12

I’m delighted to say, I have never worked in an office where they played ping pong. However, I have been in an office where they had a full size igloo and a lighthouse for meetings. Shudder.

They missed out the most important bit of office life actually in this show - the kettle.

Maireas · 09/02/2021 21:17

I was thinking about a kettle and sink area!

Puffinhead · 09/02/2021 21:21

@Puffinhead

I’ve just watched this on catch on after seeing Alan Carr talk about it on Graham Norton. Really enjoyed it.

I’m actually thinking about decorating my living room at the moment (so watching for inspiration) but I always seems to struggle when choosing curtains that actually go with the wall colour. I now know what to do - I’ll just paint the curtains to match! Grin

So last week we had painted curtains, this week painted chairs...

Sod it, I’m just going to spray paint my entire living room and be done with it!

icelollycraving · 09/02/2021 21:46

The pink and green looked smart. I hated the curtains in offices. The desks that oooked like a cage were not for me either. The really colourful lady I like, she seems very genuine and was happy to do what needed to be done for the team. The model office woman is very driven.
Charlotte looked utterly fucked off to be through, what’s that about?!

TheSpottedZebra · 09/02/2021 21:47

Maybe Charlotte just has a grumpy face?
