It’s back!!! Now with extra added Alan Carr!!!

Starts tonight. I didn’t find the first series until well after it finished and binge watched it, enjoyed following the thread on here as I did so but I was way behind the time to contribute anything.

Looking forward to enjoying this series hopefully with some viper chatter as we go along. Come on in, all opinions welcome!

I don't know why they didn't all get the same brief, it would surely have been fairer. Club Tropicana was the easiest to do.

I agree with this, having them all do a different brief doesn't make sense. I don't know who Id like to win, I actually don't really like any of them 😂

I know what you mean, @Cocolaplew, there's no-one I'm rooting for either. I don't really warm to any of them.

Was Charlotte specifically told to stay away from blue and white? Or did she decide it?

That dark green was awful. It didn't go with the stained glass at all.

I hated the tiki bar but at least she followed the brief.

Best think about tonight's episode was Sophie. Loved her coat.

I was confused when there was mention of New England style (I think from Michelle). The Hamptons aren't in New England are they?

The briefs were obviously more than just the 1 line. It's a shame we aren't told more, some of their choices might make more sense.

Hamptons are not New England but they border it. Long Island is not far from Massachusetts.

I also thought the briefs Siobhan and Paul had seemed very straightforward compared to the others, and they fulfilled the briefs clearly but I realised I found both of them fairly boring. I guess they were supposed to meet the brief and not be particularly quirky, so that’s down to me and not them.

I liked Michaela’s. It looked really cosy. I felt sorry for Charlotte with that brief but agree that Hamptons style is airy and light, so that could have been done without blue. Being stuck with the glass windows when the others weren’t was also unfair although I was interested that she didn’t then embrace that more and make them a stand out feature. The ice cream hut was ingenious - loved the peg board.

Missing the point but does anyone in real life actually use a Beach Hut for anything other than a changing area and a glorified shed??? (and where are the toilets??? ) so what is the point of decorating it. Maybe they could have a go at my Garage in the next series - now some clever storage solutions in that would be good - I might actually be able to fit a car in it. Actually they could have a go at my entire house.

Decorating them make sense if you hire them out, get the Instagram crowd in, paying silly money.

I thought siobhans was great. I think she is really talented, I thought her hotel room was great as well. It's weird because it couldn't be further from my taste.

I think Charlotte has had weeks now of doing really boring designs, her show home was exactly the same, underwhelming and flat. She deserved to go I think. I think Paul is an odd one, I don't think his designs are very interesting. His hotel room was one step away from having 'live laugh love on the wall'.

I was really impressed with Michaela this week, I think she fulfilled the brief really well, it was cosy and homely and being honest it's probably where most people would feel more comfortable to spend some time. Although the wool rug was stupid, you can get some great outdoor rugs now that would be easier to clean.

I can't believe Charlotte got a week more than Barbara in the show.

I didn't like Sophie's coat - too busy.

I was wondering last night why I’m not enjoying this so much this year because I really like Alan and Michelle, the format is the same more or less, and I think it’s because the contestants just aren’t that good. I was excited to see what they’d come up with last series but not feeling that this time around.

COVID regulations around filming probably mean there are fewer people who able to take part I’d imagine.

If you look at Millies Beach Huts on Instagram they're going to post more details about the designs too, they only own Charlottes, Paul's & Micaelas, so not sure which company owns the others. But seems like they were happy with these designs..

Didn’t like charlottes design, thought the dark green was too dark thought the Jackson pollock just looked a mess but then I know nada about art I liked Michala ombré walls it looked cosy but yet rug would need to go.
I like Paul he puts his all in to it, my goodness Michelle is scary, why does she say there name with a rictus smile then criticise them? She’s hard to please isn’t she?

Another thought, do they get time after the show to finish off those designs properly? Last night some of the work wasn't great, you could see paint on the handles of the cupboard and some of the upholstery wasn't held in place very well. Understandable when it is such a rush but if I had allowed my hut to be decorated I'd expect it to be done properly?

Charlotte's design was poorly thought out. It just didn't work with the setting. Imagine coming off the beach, dripping sea water onto the black and bottle green paint. Michaela must be going last week surely?
Siobhan is my favourite, with the orange guy next. Lynsey (is that right?) is talented with design but haven't loved any of hers.
Siobhan is such a bold person, I like her.
