Didn't see a thread for this. Anyone watching?

I most likely watched it too! It's been a long year.

BeaLola · 31/12/2020 22:09

My13 year old DS said "Do you think women find that man attractive?"

He seemed surprised when I said "yes" -Patrick was rocking the kilt Smile

SchadenfreudePersonified · 31/12/2020 22:10

I've only just found (and am watching)the Christmas one!

There's a New Year one, too?

dillite · 31/12/2020 22:12

@SchadenfreudePersonified it's the Christmas special one. My mistake, I didn't know it was a repeat tonight

Patrick is an ex-engineer, so extra-attractive. Sally has always been one of the funniest people on the planet (check out her series on Taskmaster, or Smack the Pony)

Maireas · 31/12/2020 23:07

Schaden there was a Christmas one (Sara Pascoe was one of the celebs) tonight was the New Year's one, different group of celebrities.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 31/12/2020 23:11

Yes!

I've watched the Christmas one and am now watching the New Year one!

This is great - Patrick in a kilt!

Sally Phillips is fab - Love her!

I also like Lesley Joseph, but she looks dreadfully pale and gaunt

It was when we weren't allowed out... I'm sure that narrows it down 😂

At first sight i thought she was wearing Elizabeth I type of white make up.

Maireas · 01/01/2021 09:30

Patrick and Esme are lovely.

SoupDragon · 01/01/2021 09:33

They make a great gang with Joe too. It all works well.

Samcro · 01/01/2021 09:41

i enjoyed it. glad Sally won.
it was nice to watch something celeb where I knew who 3 out of the 4 celebs were.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 01/01/2021 10:25

They do - a lovely team!

I was also glad that Sally won - she seems a lovely woman. I did like the others, too, but Sally had the edge for me.

I didn't expect to like The Vivienne, but he was ok - and I think he has a lot more sewing experience than he admitted to - probably makes his own frocks. That final gold stretchy one was lovely but far too long for the model - even with 5" heels it would have been trailing in the muck.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 01/01/2021 10:26

I'd never heard of Sabrina Grant - but what a lovely girl.

SoupDragon · 01/01/2021 10:40

Sally deserved it for the horse alone. Pure class!

I was surprised at how much I liked The Vivienne.

CaptainMyCaptain · 01/01/2021 12:45

I expected the Vivienne to be rather strident but was pleasantly surprised. He/she was quite softly spoken and seemed nice.

Maireas · 01/01/2021 13:53

Yes, everyone was really nice. Imagine Esme designing for Cher! I think The Vivienne was impressed!

ScienceSensibility · 02/01/2021 03:45

Yet another example of the BBC shoehorning their drag queen agenda into a mainstream show.
Quite apart from that, I didn’t enjoy these two specials; I love watching the truly skilled ‘amateurs’ in the regular version.

I wish we could lose the sleazy double entendres too, but not likely with Joe Lycett as the host.

SoupDragon · 02/01/2021 09:30

I knew someone would complain about the drag Queen. I'm just surprised it took this long 😂

ScienceSensibility · 02/01/2021 10:06

Bully for you Soup

Maybe spend a little time reading the Feminism threads so you can understand why women might “complain”.

SoupDragon · 02/01/2021 10:45

I won't bother if they are all as rude as you.

SoupDragon · 02/01/2021 10:45

This was a lighthearted thread about a sewing program FFS.

SoupDragon · 02/01/2021 10:46

(I have actually hidden all the feminism boards because they are generally all rude and unwelcoming)

Stellaris22 · 02/01/2021 11:30

Really? You think the BBC is forcing drag queens into their shows? Vivienne was one contestant, and I thought they were very good.

But you're quite misinformed considering how BBC staff were told they can't attend anything related to LGBTQ+ rights.

I was also waiting for someone to come along and complain.

CaptainMyCaptain · 02/01/2021 12:38

The Vivienne was completely inoffensive. I don't watch Drag Race as I'm not interested but have no problem with this one person being on Sewing Bee.
