Our Girl Thread 58 "Our Girl and Soldier Soldier Revisited"

We have been following Our Girl since 2014 and although there are to be no further series, we revisit time and time again to discuss. As an alternative, we are also watching the 1990s series of Soldier Soldier.

Oh no, it looks as if Briggsy is about to confess all to Mark in the midst of their exercise.

Whoops, Briggs has just told truth about the urine samples.

ooh it looks very cold and foggy there. Bet they didn't enjoy filming this.

Hobbs is doing something dangerous.

How fortunate the C.O's wife is a doctor, but she will tell the authorities for sure.

Sounds like menungutis

And the CO’s wife has just said so.

What is Hobbs doing?

Kate has gone to see Angela McLeod and Angela knows the baby needs medical attention. Kate explains about the so called "adoption". They involve the Colonel's wife (I can't remember her name) who fortunately happens to be a doctor!

Mark isn't thinking straight. Something could go horribly wrong on that sling thing across the river.

The Paras are having a laugh

Meningitis is suspected. This means an emergency trip to hospital. Oh dear - will it all come out about the "adoption" in some far flung Polish forest?

The baby is being taken to hospital and Kate is panicking. It's all about to hit the fan.

The paras have stolen their target rabbit.

Doesn't the hospital look old-fashioned now.

Meanwhile back in the frozen woods, the lads are chasing that rabbit.

The big chat with the CO”s wife.

Kate has just confessed about buying the baby in Poland.

Butcher heads for the lake to get his mate. Brrr that looks awful as they thrash around in the icy water.

He’s fallen in the water!

Butcher is off on his own to try and outshine one of the Paras I think, but I'm kind of losing the plot. His oppo in the Paras was walking across the ice which broke under his weight and Butcher is now trying to rescue him. He's going to die of hypothermia!

Kate explains what has happened and how they got the baby into the country. Basically, they know nothing about little Anna at all.

Maybe the Paras aren't as superhero as they like to make out.

So, Butcher has rescued the mouthy Para from the water.

Meanwhile, Hobbs and Briggsy have it out in the woods. Mark is furious but it's Debs who really deserves to be shouted at.

Gosh, imagine the ribbing Butcher will get when the lads find him hugging the Para.

Indeed, they are all but kissing and making up.

So, Stacey finds Andy and the Para but he thinks he's dreaming. Not quite Molly on the radio is she, calling for a casevac.

Butcher tries to keep the Para warm and they end up in the same sleeping bag together. The others are searching for Butcher. These days, everyone would have radios or mobiles. It all seems quite primitive.

Now Debs arrives - is she going to do the decent thing at last? Oh, no, not another ad break.
