Our Girl Thread 58 "Our Girl and Soldier Soldier Revisited"

We have been following Our Girl since 2014 and although there are to be no further series, we revisit time and time again to discuss. As an alternative, we are also watching the 1990s series of Soldier Soldier.

two section may have been multicoloured but they were all English. SF had a Welshman and a Scot.

Stacey Elf is a bit scary when she does that popped eye staring thing.

Stacey and Andy are out for a walk and find Ravi who has gone AWOL. They know something is wrong and eventually get Ravi to explain what's been happening.

Oooooh, who can forget the delightful Spanner from Kilmarnock!

Frank takes Steve to what I can only think is something like a National Front meeting.

Ravi is lost - caught between struggling with the racism in the army and disappointing his family.

Meanwhile at the pub, it looks like some sort of right wing English Nationalist group are having a meeting.

Methinks Steve is a tad uncomfortable ...

Steve is conflicted, even though he's not in agreement with his mate's attitude.

Surely Jeremy is going to have a certain amount of sympathy with Ravi?

Lovely log fire there behind Jeremy.

A softly-spoken threat there as Frank says he'll take Ravi out on patrol tomorrow.

Steve needs to man up and tell his mate where to get off, as well as telling Jeremy everything.

The gang, or whatever you want to call them, have sneaked up on poor Ravi whilst he's on watch and have hustled him off to one of the barns, typing him to a farm cart.

It's so hard to watch - you just cannot imagine anything like this being screened in this day and age.

Steve at first appears as if he's part of the racist gang but is in fact on Ravi's side.

Steve, Andy and Briggsy interrupt the latest round of bullying.

Ravi tells them all about the generations of his family who have served in the army. Steve calls Frank out on his racism and then rescues Ravi before tying up Frank and turning the tables on him.

Phew, thank goodness the lads were there and have tackled Frank and his mob. Looks as if Frank is going to get a taste of his own medicine.

Actually, I think Steve has pulled a really good one her, don’t you?

Meanwhile, Jeremy and the Big Cat Hunter appear in the barn and find Skinner tied up with a bottle of bleach. He can't explain this away.

Jeremy is coming with the hunter chap! Hurray. They discover Skinner tied to the farm cart. Jeremy must surely suss what has happened but Skinner is keepilng quiet.

Ravi has the odd line that reminds me of Rab

Oh dear, what are Andy and Stacey up to! Is it a bit of afternoon delight?

Or is it evening by now?

Meanwhile back in the barn, the elf wants to frolic with Andy in the hayloft.

Jeremy has grown up - he didn't believe the story in the barn and Frank is not exactly top notch soldier material.

Steve must confess all.

This is a rubbish way to deal with this problem. Poor Jeremy, he knows how difficult it was for Lillian and he wants to do something, but no one is prepared to speak out.

Jeremy is going to transfer Skinner out of the section. Best place for him - sounds as if he causes trouble wherever he goes.
